Sally, on waiting for the cheque to clear" "anyone would think we had an account in the Kayman Islands"

Liam, on trying to get the cellophane off a dvd, "it's like they don't want you to watch it"

Ashley, after Clare's comment that they find Picassos in skips "best place for em"

No specific line but very good the way the truth about Steve was wormed out of Lloyd (with Lloyd being none the wiser that the game was up).

Yes, I agree with you Rosie that was superb the way Michelle and Carla got that out of him!

I think on the nice but dim stakes, Lloyd could give Kirk a run for his money. Smile

    Re: Soaps best one liners

Darryl on Mel judging her mother for having left the kids "in loads of families dads walk out and it's acceptable, why should it be any different when it's a bird"

Vernon on cheap looking women "some men like that sort of thing" (looks at Liz) - er not me obviously"

And well done Teresa for bringing gobby Rosie down a peg or two. Now if only someone would do the same with Tina.

Vernon when Liz remarked on what a good memory he has "only for things that are precious" Ah!!! Unfortunately Liz in turn couldn't remember what Vern had been wearing when she went to his first "gig".

Leanne to Dan after Janice had just told him Leanne's been sacked for sleeping with Steve "let me just rephrase that"

Actually felt sorry for Michelle when she said "I feel like I'm going crazy. Every woman I see I'm wondering whether it's them."

And some excellent scenes too in tonight's episode:

Sally & Rosie caught in the crossfire between mother & daughter moreton

Ted getting advice on how to remove stains

And best of all Deirdre and Eileen deciding to leave, changing their minds when they know there's going to be a ringside seat at the circus and then actually leaving when they realise there isn't going to be a barney after all.

Nice to see mother & son Moreton getting along too (in fact the whole family apart from po-faced Mel).

Deirdre when Blanche was being particularly obnoxious to Vernon. "Geriatric Tourettes"

    Re: Soaps best one liners

I was just about to add the quote about the geriatric tourettes but I did like Blanche's question as to what led to the break up "your inability to do a decent day's work or her loose morals"

Roy "I would rather be laughed at for having old fashioned values than be despised for having the morals of a stray cat"

Vernon on his split with Liz"it's a warning sign when they encourage you to go away on tour. And that happened twice!"

Roger on snobs "they're the ones who aren't worth knowing - not the low achievers"

I don't know what the most touching scene was tonight - Vernon trying to sound convincing when singing Gonna get along without you now or Becky looking like a daughter leaving home.

1st Vernon then Becky, Lloyd's becoming the agony uncle for the whole street . And just how did Eileen figure out that Roy was talking about his row with Becky when she didn't even know he'd had a row?

"And just how did Eileen figure out that Roy was talking about his row with Becky when she didn't even know he'd had a row?"

Duh!  Silly question given Roy doesn't have close contact with many people!!

    Re: Soaps best one liners

Can't see why Becky was so upset about being likened to a stray cat.  Stray cats are fiercely independent creatures.  He could have called her something worse - like a grade 1 slapper (would have been nearer the mark too!).

    Re: Soaps best one liners

I,m sure Roy probably meant Alley Cat. I doubt if he would know what a slapper is, or if he did, would use the word.

Most slappers are like Becky, just looking for someone to love them. They mistake sex for love and end upBroken Heart

    Re: Soaps best one liners

No I'm sure you're right.  Roy would never be so brutally honest.  And trouble is, people like Becky leave others Broken Heart too particularly when they sleep around with MARRIED men.
