    Re: WILD AT HEART PROTEST!!!!!!!!

Apart from the fact that wild at heart gets higher viewing figures than heartbeat, heartbeat is well past it`s sell by and should have finished years ago.

Heartbeat is part of Sunday evenings, I hope it carries on for many more years yet! It belongs to an era when policing wasn't dictated by political correctness, and I can't help but feel that there is something comforting in the incorruptability of the Ashfordly Police. In this it is similar to Foyle's War (although it sadly seems that that is drawing to a close - perhaps we'll have Foyle's Peace!)

Heartbeat has been going for near on 20 years yet it`s still set in the 60`s when it should be in the 80`s by now or does time stop on this show.

    Re: WILD AT HEART PROTEST!!!!!!!!

Trouble is, if it was brought into the eighties, the police station would probably have closed, and the country bobby, the point behind the series, would have disappeared. The story belongs just to that era, admitted that produces problems as members of cast get older, etc, but can you imagine a 'Heartbeat Today', such as there is now 'The Royal Today'?!

Hello - it isn't real, isn't in real time, it's a drama set IN THE 60's.....

It isn't all that true to the 60's life anyway - some of the 'feelings' conveyed by the drama are modern - but that's life, unless all the writers and directors are in their 60's or late 50's at youngest - HOW WOULD THEY KNOW?

Still, I say we need variety on Sundays - so don't stick with 52 weeks of Heartbeat - Wild at Heart and the Royal provide a great interlude between the series of Heartbeat....

Looking forward to Wild At Heart IV

Matt07 - I think you need to see the bigger picture, heartbeat is long running because so many people like it!At it's peak it reached 13.4 Million the only reason why it doesnt now is because of the way ITV mess about with the scedule!

The last time I checked Wild at Heart wasnt far ahead of heartbeat - I would rather you didnt insult us heartbeat fans by saying nasty comments about the show being past it!

Do you hear me saying bad things about Wild at heart? No, so keep it to yourself!

As an avid viwer of both Heartbeat and Wild at Heart, I think that perhaps ITV should have put a little more thought into thier schedule, i.e. Wild at Heart could be shown on an alternative ITV channel or later in the evening. This would satisfty all!

I'm also an avid viewer of Heartbeat and Wild at Heart i also Enjoy The Royal as well, and i hope all three continue for many years more. Also, last year around July i think, i quite by chance came across another Wild at Heart type show, on the Hallmark channel. I caught it on it's first week and it was called Life is Wild, it's the American version of ours and it's filmed in Leopards Den as well but they call it The Blue Leopard and it's still Mara that's next door to them. Same kind of story but with 2 grown up children and 2 kinda 8 to 11 year olds. I loved it as well. I was so disappointed yesterday when i tried to find out when series 2 was starting here, to find that the network had cancelled it owing to low viewing figures. Typical American networks. I'm so glad they give things more of a chance here in Britain.

    *Snorts*

Heartbeat's nearly always on, dunno what you're complaining about. What isn't fair is that they cut The Royal short by two episodes to show more flipping Heartbeat. It may've been a good show once upon a time but it's run its course now. Four episodes per series for The Royal is ridiculous, it's a much better show.

Also I think it's a bit silly of you to come to the Wild at Heart fan forum to try to argue your case. Why?! That's completely illogical. Plus shouting your way through life won't get you anywhere.

    Au revoir.

    Re: WILD AT HEART PROTEST!!!!!!!!

Sorry can't agree with you. Heartbeat is getting a bit tiresome, much more interesting and entertaining watching the goings on in the bush in South Africa in Wild at Heart.

    Re: WILD AT HEART PROTEST!!!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of Heartbeat but I'm not saying its rubbish or anything its just not my type of show. But I don't understand why fans are upset by the show getting cut short, as many people have pointed out and said its on for most of the time.
Whereas Wild At Heart is only on for a couple of weeks every year, so we have to wait for a new series to return the following year but if it was made here then yeah I'm more than sure it would be on more regularly. Also this is also down to them filming in Africa they can't stay over due to other commitments the actors / actresses have over here. Therefore Heartbeat wouldn't really be cut short as they would work around that to allow both to be shown.

    Re: WILD AT HEART PROTEST!!!!!!!!

I personally enjoy watching Wild at Heart, Heartbeat and The Royal, but i have to say Wild at Heart is my favourite!!

But as we are all different i think all 3 should be broadcasted for the same amount of times in the year split into thirds! :D
