Re: Does anyone hope LH never wins a title!??
i must admit that with my original post i did get slightly carried away, but my overriding point which i failed to get across was that, last year people seemed to bend over backwards and break rules in order to gift him the title and so he seems to have it in his mindset that he now deserves the title, regardless of what he does, as though he is above the sport. THAT, is why i hope he doesnt win a title, unless he learns to be humble, which looks unlikely.

ok seriously dude, this is the exact thing that doesnt help anyone. luke, the hype surrounding hamilton isnt as much as you make out. you just build it up and put words in other peoples mouths so that you can attack hamilton even more. yeah he was lucky to start f1 with a good car under him, but why should you hate him for that? whether or not you like him as a person you gotta give credit where credit is due. he is a good driver no matter how much you dont like him as a person. sure other drivers like kubica, kovalainen or rosberg could have done the same, but thats because they are talented drivers to. you cant hate on lewis just for a decision made by someone else, its kind of childish man. you had a go at itv.... ive said this before but ill say it again: british driver, british team, british tv network, british audience.... what do you expect? of course they are going to say positive things about him and defend him like that. and as for the alonso v hamilton stuff. its not even worth arguing about. we all know how competitive both those guys are. they are both highly skilled and both want to win, sparks are bound to fly. why people feel the need to take sides and viciously attack each other is beyond me.

I for one, do! the guy is unbelievable, and not in a good way. Ever since he came into F1 he's been bigging himself up, and his dads' are unbearable, that is: surrogate dad dennis, and the real one. He forgets that not many rookies have the oppurtunity to drive the best car with the reigning champion set-up. I honestly believe any talented driver;Kubica, Kovalainen, Rosberg would have been able to achieve what he did last year had they been driving the same car.
*He even had time to refer to the slower teams as "the monkey's at the back."
*He accused Alonso of trying to run him of the road at Spa, just because someone dared to challenge him.
*He ignored team orders in Hungary, yet Alonso was punished.
*He drove dangerously behind the safety car, but did anything happen?
*He held up Riakkonen at Interlagos but got away with it.
*I am sure he used an extra set of tyres once, but it was all laughed off as inexperience.
*He was driving a ferrari all season, masquerading as a Mclaren, then claimed he knew nothing about it.
Now that Kovalainen has joined Mclaren, he is looking better than Hamilton, yet ITV still hail him as some god like entity. I am an F1 fan before i follow any particular driver, but i hope Alonso joins ferrari next year. The combination of Raikkonen and Alonso should prevent Shamilton from winning anything for a good few years, and that can only be a good thing. I actually dont think he will win this year and i wouldnt be surprised if Kovalainen finishes higher. Lewis is a child, and the more he is indulged by ITV and Ron Dennis, the less he will learn.
LH was the moral winner of the 2007 WDC already... Kimi only got it gifted in the end through a series of 100% avoidable problems from McLaren and FIA politics.
LH car control is still there, and I expect to see it soon enough...
Kimi and Massa haves made far worse mistakes then Hamilton's to date, so there is a lot of possibility for LH to get back into the groove...

His problem is that to get back into the groove he needs to get pole. If he has anyone in front of him or anywhere near him he acts like he's playing bumper cars.

Shamilton deseved to fail last year, the number of times he and McLaren were let off and not penalised or deducted points for offences that have previous warrented points or place deductions was beyond belief. He is totally over hyped and depite all the work behind the scenes to give him the WDC last year he still managed to throw it away all by himself, he only needed 1 extra point in the last two races to seal the title and he still couldn't do it. He does have some pretty impressive car control when he's not plowing in to the back of other cars, driving off track, failing to push the right button at the start, not pushing the wrong button in the race etc, shame that he can't seem to manage the tires at the same time as the top drivers manage to do. Shamiltons mistakes cost him a free handed on a plate to him WDC Kimi's mistakes dropped him down the pack but didn't put him out of the race, same can not be said for the sham master.

You better hope that Hamilton gets back to his pre China form soon, otherwise the mistakes in the last 5 races are not a promising outlook. I don't think that anybody can serioulsy say that Raikkonen's and Massa's mistakes in the last 5 races were worse. Most of what you call mistakes by the Ferrari drivers were technical problems. I can only see on technical problem with Hamilton's gearbox in Brazil,

Hmmm, moderators, I would have preferred that my post was rejected instead of being edited beyond recognition. Don't you feel you take things too seriously sometimes?

you cant hate on lewis just for a decision made by someone else, its kind of childish man.
you had a go at itv.... ive said this before but ill say it again: british driver, british team, british tv network, british audience.... what do you expect? of course they are going to say positive things about him and defend him like that.
and as for the alonso v hamilton stuff. its not even worth arguing about. we all know how competitive both those guys are. they are both highly skilled and both want to win, sparks are bound to fly. why people feel the need to take sides and viciously attack each other is beyond me.
You know what, when things become rowdy and confusing, sometimes you never a level headed person to rise above it all and speak the truth. Not a truer word has been spoken on this board to date. Very good post.

. The fact you think the hype surrounding him isnt as much as i think or say it is must mean that you spend alot of time hibernating, or avoiding the news. Read alot of the other threads, and it generally comes down to one thing, the over the tope praise of Hamilton. I dont hate him for starting in a good car, in fact i dont remember saying i hate him at all. I just dont think he deserves to win a title as his mindset has become one of thinking he has the right to one rather than having to earn it. Thats not all his fault i guess, partly ron dennis' and the media combined in making him think he is better than he is. and yes he is a good driver, but my point was, so are alot of other drivers out there, and some are probably better, yet dont get the same hype! and regarding the whole itv coverage, as aforementioned, the other posts in different threads capture the mood better than i can: The majority of people are fed up with the hamilton bias in the F1 coverage. For it not to annoy you, im guessing your a fan. There are merely issues i have with him dominating the headlines when he is actually not that great, and other drivers are achieveing more from lesser cars. hopefully we will se no more rule bending to accomodate him this year. As i say, i hope he doesnt and dont think he will win the title this year or for a couple of years at least, and before he does, he will have learnt to become humble, earn it himself, and deserve it.

Re: Does anyone hope LH never wins a title!??
I feel this needs pointing out:
Anyone who says Rosberg, kubica etc could have done what hamilton did in the same car is also saying that they would finish higher than Alonso over the course of a season. Even though Kubica was beat in his first year by a driver not as good as Alonso, (forget Rosberg v wurz) Bit stupid really.

You forget. If Mclaren has Alonso and Kubica in there cars, then the Mclaren and to some point the FIA wouldn't have bent over backwards to help Hamilton. You can't realy compare these issues, after how Mclaren treated Alonso last year.

And you forget the FIA stands for Ferrari's In Action. If the FIA was aiding Hamilton, surely they could have thrown Alonso out for his emails?

I would love to see Button and Honda all of a sudden come to the front. I wonder who ITV would fawn over?
