It's all down to attitude... plain and simple. The fact that he doesn't seem to care about anything or anyone else UNTIL he sees the camera. Then it's ok with the beaming smile, the cheeky thumbs up and that occasional cheeky wink. Also the fact that he doesn't acknowledge Kimi until the knows the cameras on him so he comes across as this really nice guy that everyone falls for.
Sorry Lewis but this time the camera saw you first.
Why do you follow Hamilton when he is off camera, or that moment when Hamilton was fixing himself, saw the camera, patted Kimi on his back and said a couple of words to him.....sums up every single drop of his movements?
Seriously, what if Hamilton missed a ceremony he didnt care about because he was taking a number two?
The differnece is, Kimi doesn't pretend to be something he isn't. He's never has bothered to show any intrest in any other driver and doesn't pretend to either. Lewis on the otherhand does.

The difference is Kimi is jusst rude, rude, rude (2001-2007) and gets away with it, and I wont say why he gets away with it but his deep blue eyes helps alot. Just like when he was meant to have a drivers photo call in Oz, didnt turn up in his uniform and stayed for seconds, and the FIA had to call him back, and ALL the drivers had to wait in the heat for him to stomp back to the photo call again...OBNOXIOUS behaviour from the WDC holder throwing his weight around!
Hamilton isnt perfect, and obviously needs to watch how he blinks because of the hounding obsessive bashers out there BUT Atleast Hamilton has manners, at least he is polite and atleast he talks to the media, gives a smile and does his best to refrain from making a sitution worst.

It's all very well painting Kimi with some kind of silent but deadly image, but the reality is he's silent but inconsistent, and therefore the racecraft does not compensate for his lack of personality...
It's like have no personality and approx Massa level skill... which just does nothing for my excitement factor...
Give me a Hamilton, Schumacher, Mika or Mansell type personalities anytime over a silent buy inconsistent driver...
I watch F1 to be entertained and not put into a coma...

Re: Hamilton arrogance again!!
| At least Kimi has a mind of his own and isnt a product of a PR machine which tells him when to smile at the camera and primes him with what to say. I cant remember MS having a lot to say either for that matter but even he wasnt as machine made as LH - Talking about inconsistency, LH has been far more inconsistent than Kimi already this season if it hadnt been for the two safety cars he would have been nowhere near Massa leave alone Kimi in Barcelona, but when they realised he couldnt pressurise them they just coasted whilst he was pushing like hell and getting nowhere. |

What watching Mansell & Coulthard only winning when in the best car on the grid???,
I needed a box of Pro-Plus at least to watch their antics or listen to their BORING speeches.

Re: Hamilton arrogance again!!
Ah thats good then, you can stop bashing LH for everything he says or does in front of the camera, blame the PR machine, Lewis is innocent.
Fortunately his PR machine can organise his rest time not to coincide with a honour ceremony. His PR machine tells him to leave the pit when finished so his team mate can enter. His PR machine knows the importance of photo calls and not being obnoxious. His PR machine stops him charging down the garage and threatening to bash someones head off when he crashes into the back of them.
Lewis unable to think for himself would have to ask his PR machine " I just got this e-mail from a guy called Steptoe trying to sell me some scrap parts..is it okay to say yes, just as long as they are not coloured red ?"
I applaud his PR machine for telling him to shrug his shoulders at just losing the record breaking first season chance of a WDC, " I had a great season, never thought a year ago I would miss out by just one point "
If you think you have seen arrogance from Lewis, just wait until Kovi out qualifies him in Canada, he goes off at the start trying to take him, Kovi wins, and out qualifies and wins in the next one. Lewis's PR machine has the script planned. " First demand first driver status be honoured by not letting Kovi win - tell the team LH is worth 0.5s more than Kovi is - and then have a hissy fit in the pit" And if all that fails he is planning to park at a Monaco chicane and walk to the nearest lavatory"

Re: Hamilton arrogance again!!
What I don't see in any of these replys, is anyone disagreeing with Hamilton. Not one contributor to this forum has came out and said he wasn't "up with the professional drivers". So what did he say wrong? Everyone with common sense knows that those drivers always at the front are more professionally better, than those who are always at the back. I'm not saying those at the back are any less professional, it's just they are at the back amongst other professionals and not among the front ones. Too many people tend to look for fault in every single word some people say just because they don't like a person, instead of listening to what a person is trying to say. It's a bad day if we all have to start opening a dictionary every time we want to say something, just so we get the exact word and meaning correct. Using common sense can decipher many mis-placed words.

Sensible post.
Using the word in its correct context, all paid drivers are professional.

Re: Hamilton arrogance again!!
LH's comment is exactly what you would expect from someone who's first step into a F1 car was into a championship winning car. hes never had to battle away in a minardi or super aguri and doesnt appreciate the quality of many of those drivers.

You do make me laugh RE. Kimi, inconsistent? Take a look at his last 10 F1 races - 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 8th, 1st, 2nd, 1st. Considering his 8th was actually a DNF due to engine failure. How is 9 podiums from 10 races inconsistent? Let alone 5 wins from 10 races, thats a 50% strike rate on victories. Inconsistent? lol

He was asked about his start from 5th place! (obviously being asked indirect comment on Alonso)
He said he is with professional drivers so he knows he is okay as they all want to finish? How the hell is that an arrorgant comment?????????????????

Seems like statistics and hates Ragged's theories. Well it's rare that he bases his claims of what actually seemed to happen..

Re: Hamilton arrogance again!!
dear oh dear why are the people in this country so damning of anybody successful. its the only place in the world where acheivement and talent are shuned.the guy that posted this obviously did not actually see the interview or wasnt listening he was actually prasing the people behind him as the context of the interview was about him being on the third row and in the traffic at the first corner. he said the drivers around him that actually means in front and behind. i jus think petty little envious people just look for any excuse to downtrod young successful people in this country. so come on just lay off the guy he has obviously the right atributes to become one of the best drivers in the world if the sad little critics just leave him alone.

Re: Hamilton arrogance again!!
champalonso:Yes cfol I have to agree, Lewis said nothing unreasoinable this time. There's no point in picking on him just for the sake of it. I think he's finally learning how tough F1 is and it could well be the best thing for him in the long run. He's said plenty of bigheaded things in the past but not this time, so there's no need for anyone to have a go at him.
Good response mate (Y)
