    Pic/photo in News articles - I need a magnifying-glass!

My gripe about the new-look site is the pic/photo that accompanies the news article - they are way too small!

Can hardly make out anything in the news pic if it's not a close-up shot. They are simply a waste of space being that small.

This has been a step-backward with the new-look website, and I've found I now do not enjoy going to itv-f1 for news for this reason.

Please make them bigger and/or enable us to click-to-enlarge them. I've found f1.com news has done this very well.

I love the new web site. Good colour mix and easy to navigate. Congratulations. jeff

Sorry, 'modern' is fine, but my old eyes have trouble with red on black too - not really necessary, is it.

Navigating is a problem, might be better when you de-bug. e.g. can't get schedule from schedule button (vanishes behind LG advert after literally one second) - but I found the schedule somewhere else (by accident).

Messy really. It wasn't broke, so why Jackie Icx it?

Re: New-look F1 website - What do you think?

Interesting site but very messy and often the items don't work when clicked. Tested on several browsers and only IE seems to have no issues.

One last note, having looked at McLarens HQ, inside and outside as well as thier mobile version it begs the question. Did you intend to use a McLaren colour scheme?

Silly question ... we all know the answer anyway :D

Re: New-look F1 website - What do you think?

    Well said Rafer!

The previous set up was quite good. A message to whomever 'created' this frustrating new look site obviously has no concept that there are a vast number of older Formula One enthusiasts. The right hand side bar of 'News Items' is extremely difficult to read -- why? This is supposed to be the age of clear and concise communication.

My other complaint, and I know nothing can be done about it, but the flashing advertisements in the middle of interesting text are extremely distracting. They are a confounded irritation! One thing is certain, I will never purchase any product or service thus advertised.

I agree with another poster, the site is very McLaren looking.

Re: New-look F1 website - What do you think?

I would just like to give my opinions as a web designer.

    • The poll is way to far down the page. Might be better under the "Next Live Action" count down. Also the newsletter sign up box seems out of place.
    • Way to many ads. Yes i know you need revenue from the site, but get rid of the pop-ups if you have that many "on page".
    • Stick with one type of title bar. I would much prefer if the title bar on the right hand site
(this one ) is used through out the site, for the Race results, championship standings and latest featues..
    Other than that

Re: New-look F1 website - What do you think?

I must admit not been too keen on the colour screen, but you're giving up Formula One anyway at the end of the year, or so I read somewhere recently, so I suppose it won't matter in the long run anyway.

However, what REALLY does annoy me about the itv-F1 website is the amount of advertising you push on every single page!

Not only is there an advert inside the text on most articles, there are popups appearing when the page loads, and when you change pages within the site, on every single page! Popup onload() and popup onclose(), the popup onload() again!

We want to hear what you like about the new design and, more importantly, what you don’t. We promise to read every suggestion, and we will do our best to act upon as many of them as possible. Please post your thoughts here.

    Thanks

Completely agree.  When I click on Community to get to the most discussed topics I either get a black screen or an advert for which I have no interest.  Go back to the way it was.  This is garbage of the first order.

Lack of communication between the IT V-F1 webmasters and the forum owners. The forum owners have turned of RSS feeds which used to show the latests posts on the ITV-F1 page.

Bad move, people wont register just to see whats going on, having a forum open for guests to see what kind of forum this is usually helps to gain new members.

Agree, the pop ups are dreadful and getting worse IMO.  They don't even get blocked by FF.

Email  Yes, I agree with all of above,  but the question must be why did you bother to take the time and effort to do this with only a few months to go ?  seems a total waste of time to me and you do not appear to acheived anything anyway.   And yes,  the page smacks of McL,  why ?

please explain why you are making us all sign in just to read posts, or are you trying to keep a count or building a database to sell on to the BBC ?

Last question the forum allows people like us to share our feeling with other like minded people but does anyone from the ITV F1 team actually read any of this ?   i.e. commentators, F1 presenters etc ?   I really would like to know
