What we want from our F1 coverage
2007 was without doubt the year of the Lizard-like Lewis Hamilton, it seemed that the ITV F1 team could not get enough! And they loved to portray Fernando as the little devil of McLaren.
But, people are not as daft as the British media like to think and not everyone is convinced by LH's flying Greek godliness, so I think it's about time we had a poll to find out the general opinions of you guys on this forum. I will add up the points at the end!
Please vote for the driver you believe to be the best - only one point per vote and one vote per member. So I'll start with Fernando - 1 vote from me!

Re: What we want from our F1 coverage
Kimi Raikkonen has the vote from me - has done since 2005. But I also want more coverage of other teams, rather than just Ferrari and McLaren for a huge portion of the race.

I dont know you would get that, ITV has no control over the race director, thus far most have concentrated on Hamilton...I think Bahrain took the biscuit!
Are Alonso fans the biggest whingers amongst them all?

alonso worked his way from minardi aswell and is dominating piquet who was equal to hamilton. just shows how much better alonso drives when in a team he wants to succeed and a team who motivate him to produce 100% at all times. i vote alonso and btw im a felipe massa fan and dont even want alonso to win at all. I'd rather hamilton did. i just think alonso drives the best and drives his team forward. Felipe did own today and and at bahrain but hes not as good as kimi overall.

Kimi had one season in Sauber and scored 9 points!
Alonso had one season at Minardi and score nil points...it was almost like a testing season for both of them wasnt like they were doomed or had to work their way hard up the grid.....they were always going to move on!
Damn atleast Hamilton won in GP2, I cant believe Alonso and Kimi didnt even race in GP2? I have more respect for a driver winning in GP2, rather than spending time in a back grid car going around in circles testing...with nothing expected of them!

GP2 started in 2005, so both Fernando and Kimi were already in F1. Nico Rosberg won 2005, whilst Lewis won in 2006.

Only 2005? Never knew that, but it is a great stepping stone for any f1 driver? What was before GP2 then, did Kimi or Alonso feature in it and did they win at all?

GP2 used to be called F3000 which has been around since the 1980's. Alonso competed in F3000 in the year 2000 but only scoring a victory and second place in the final couple of races. Kimi didn't compete in F3 or F3000. He went straight from Formula Renault to F1 which is a huge jump. He was the first driver to make such a leap into F1. He had only competed in 19 car races when he started F1 which is why it feels like Kimi has been around for a long time, because normally most drivers would have a couple years in F3 and at least one in F3000. Kimi skipped all of that.

Though saying that, if Kimi joined McLaren with an informed Mika, he would not have been leading him at any point of a season. Damn I hate myself for saying that, pet hate, making up senario's that never happened!

Re: What we want from our F1 coverage
It would be a refreshing change to have a commentary that is unbiased totally. We would like to see the entire field of racing, and not concentrate on one section. Furthermore, the commentators should be a bit more impartial, as the gushing we get from JA and MB is a little bit over the top. I would go as far to say that they (JA and MB) are the ones that make the racing public dislike LH so much, as we tire of hearing about him all the time and just how wonderful he is. So in a nutshell - unbiased impartial commentary please.

Re: What we want from our F1 coverage
From commentary, I would like a better all round coverage of all the teams and drivers, not just from McLaren and Ferrari, as I find the midfield battles really interesting, more so than whats happening at the front sometimes! I'd also like less focus on hamilton, but thats probably cos i really don't support him & im a bit bored by him now tbh.
Honestly, I think fernando is the best, he beat schumacher :) and what he achieved at renault is pretty amazing, hes a 2x world champion and he is the best all rounder i feel.
