Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win
peasantburner:harsh but fair in my book.
Lewis cut the chicane, gained sporting advantage, passed Raikkonen almost by default into La Source as he was carrying so much more speed up the pit straight, Raikkonen attempting to retake the lead after losing it to the dubious move damaged his front wing, then spun off the road whilst travelling in a straight line after Blanchimont, almost certainly helped along by an aero imbalance the collision with Lewis (who had passed unfairly, in my opinion at least) caused.
Put simply, if Lewis hadn't cut the chicane, Raikkonen would much less likely have spun off.
If lewis was carrying so much more speed surely kimi couldn't have passed him, lewis need to be travelling slower than kimi for this simple physics. And the many other times a driver has cut a corner and overtaken just to allow the other driver back through has been enough to adhere to the rules, so why do the rules have to change now and with no-one knowing about it!

I think it's true that anything Mclaren do is wrong. I suggest Mclaren paint their cars red and with a bit of luck those daft stewards will not be able to tell the difference and leave Mclaren alone.

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win
If the FIA have their way F1 will be reduced to a race track with cars dutifully following each other around the track. It seem that unless you drive a red car any move made within the FIAs own rules will somehow be turned into a rule violation no matter what. Obviously the corruption that is rife in the world of formula one stops and starts with the "old boy network" and doesn't include Lewis. He will never be allowed to become world champion no matter what.
A very good race has now tainted my view of the sport and I doubt I will waste my time watching the next race.

Totally agree with basrutten, another dull race, as soon as there is a bit of excitement, in steps the Fia to spoil the fun. Get those guys to watch a bit of MotoGP. Fair racing, a bit of fairing bashing, but the riders know what to expect, and I'm sure the F1 drivers do too, they are racers after all!

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win
Wow, i have seen it all now! this is the biggest discrace i have ever witnesed in F1. Mclaren have to appeal this.
Is the FIA blind? Do they think no one could see?
I think there is now without doubt bias!
I put it to everyone out there, The FIA is taking back handers from Ferrari or perhaps there is some racism creeping in!
THIS IS THE BIGGEST JOKE EVER!

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win
I'm not sure what race you were watching. Lewis put his car legally on the outside of Kimi, and when the Finn moved over Hamilton had no option other than to cut the chicane. He then backed off and let Kimi through. In order for him to do this he sacrificed any speed advantage he could have had. How could he have been carrying more straight line speed and also let Kimi past him? If there were any penalty to be handed out then it should have been to Kimi for subsequently driving into the back of Hamilton into turn one (which was totally uneccessary). In Valencia, Massa's pit exit was in clear beach of the rules and yet he was allowed to take the race win with nigh on no action taken. McClaren have spent god knows how many millions making a fantastic racing car. Shame they never thought to invest five quid in a can of red paint.

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win
I cannot begin to comprehend the decision that has been passed. I've watched this race really closely, and slow motioned a replay of the event. Lewis was IN FRONT of Kimi going into the chicance. Kimi pushed Lewis wide to the point that he was forced off the track. Thats not racing. It is fine to make it difficult for someone to overtake you, but you have to give them track space. Pushing someone off the road is not acceptable, and I don't care who does it. Lewis let him back in front, then Kimi started to weave in front of him. Again, this is something that is not allowed. Lewis passes him, and then Kimi drives into the back of Lewis. That is Kimi's own fault. Kimi then crashes and Lewis get penalised. I just cannot start to understand the stupidity of those in charge if they actually think that any of the above things Lewis did was wrong. At worst Kimi should be given a warning for what he did.

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win
I am confused. KR barges LH off the track.....LH lets KR back through and then overtakes him and gets hit in the rear. What would you of liked LH to do? I am curious. Stop for a few seconds, lets massa overtake as well....how should he of handled it? !!!!!!!!!

Lewis can't have been carrying more speed by default down the pit straight, because he came out of the chicane in front of Raikkonen and backed off to let him back past. If he backed off down the straight then he can't suddenly be carrying more speed at the end of it! Your logic doesn't work. He simply out-braked Raikkonen and passed him again.
Anyway, I've watched my last race after being a die-hard fan for 25 years. Unless they overturn the decision then I'm not watching any more.

Really? So Hamilton was carrying way more speed than kimi whilst he was slowing down to let kimi overtake him? Can you please explain to me how that works out?
