what a joke  that Ferrari win again by a pathetic decision from the stewards.  lewis won that race . i would love to know what the rules are in f1 as it always seems to change when it comes to ferrari. these stewards need there heads testing and the f.i.a. need to get it sorted.

Are the stewards paid by Ferrari?

I think I will give up F1 if this is how it is going to be run. 27 years supporting the sport through thick and thin, the stewards decisions in the last two races Valencia and Belgium bring the whole sport into disrepute. I'm not going to spend my hard earned dosh, giving Eccleston and crew a comfy life anymore

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

    This is an utter joke.

Its kinda funny (not litterally -.-) aswell that without the time penalty heidfeld was 24 seconds behind lewis (hence the 25 second penalty given ? hmm)

It is just a complete and utter fix. Lewis did nothing wrong what so ever, he couldnt have stopped himself going over the chicane since he had already comitted to overtaking raikkonen (and i might add, was in front of him at the time) then Raikkonen in all his sportsmanship decides to give him no room whatsoever thus pushing him completely off the track and going over the chicane.

He realised that he needed to give the place back and clearly did, then took it straight back because of the speed he has in the rain (you can clearly see raikkonen doesnt have the confidence in the wet hence laying off his accelerator so much) so it was innevitable.

The FIA needs to be investigated by someone higher up (unfortunatly there is no one higher than them) Complete double standards between ferrari and mclaren. It seems strange to me that all Massa got in Valencia was a €10,000 fine when endangering peoples lives.

Please someone correct me if im wrong but... didnt something like this happen before by lewis ? He overtook someone by cutting the corner BUT didn't then give the place back so had to suffer a drive through penalty.. However, this time he did it and gave the place back to the driver and still he gets completely penalised, can the lad not do anything right in the eyes of the FIA ? It seems not.

People need to start saying something and getting themselves heard by the FIA to have something done about this crap. Corruption within the FIA? Seems a likely accusation to me.

(Just another thing... are there any ferrari fans in this thread that actually agree with what has happened here and can back their reasons up with cold hard facts? Maybe you have another special camera for ferrari viewers only (wouldn't suprise me)).

    scottja:

this has to be the worst decision ive ever seen not just in F1 but in world sport, he was rammed off the track by raikonnen and had no choice.

Second worst decision this year in worldwide sport. The Taekwondo Olympic quarter final, originally awarded in favour of China’s Chen Zhong was worse. In that case the officials eventually saw sense and reversed the decision.

Little chance of the FIA displaying such sense and reversing a flawed decision.

So as we all know how much the FIA care about us normal fans - surely the only way to exert influence is to boycot F1 sponsors (especially those on the red cars) and then write to their PR departments telling them why you are boycotting them (focussing on words like "your", "competitor", "getting", "my" and "business").  Maybe F1 (in particular it's 2 elderly gents) will listen if the sponsors start getting upset / looking to spend their millions elsewhere.

    What a joke.

He gave the place back, as required and being a better driver just overtook him again.

Does he really need to be penalised..... Raikonnen crashed out anyway.

An absolute disgrace for a sport born in England.

    The FIA should be overturned.

Everybody is joining the bandwagon, especially if the watch ITV. I'm fan of Raikonnen (very disappointing performance today) and I think that Hamilton was the winner - he was clearly better in the last laps. It is the ITV that makes of the programme a joke and starts the anti-Hamilton attitude. If you don't hear a word 'Hamilton' every minute that is just because they are showing ads. They should rename it to 'Hamilton F1 show'.

    Fix, Fix, Fix !!!!

Couldnt agree more . I've had enough as well . Whats the point of watching this sport any longer  and spending a fortune going to races if the sole reason for running the sport is to benefit Ferrari !

The stewards should hang their heads in shame , giving the race to a guy who completely bottles it the moment the track gets slightly wet .

This is all just another conspiracy to stop Mclaren and Hamilton winning the World championship . The FIA are in real danger of alienating the real fans who have long memories and can well remember similar incidents going unpunished.

If it wasn't for the fact that Ferrari seem to get away with everything, I would be totally confused by this decision.

This needs to be overturned if the FIA are going to have any credibility and the fans don't turn away in droves.

LH won fair and square, it was clear on the coverage to all those who were watching. Not sure what the stewards were shown.

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

I think your thinking is somewhat flawed Mr. peasantburner....Lewis was not carrying more speed after he let Kimi past otherwise he would nothave retaken the position from him in the first place. Lewis capitilazed on theslip stream of a slower car…. At some point on that straight, Kimi was going fasterthan Lewis, it is not his fault if the car infront can not maintain race pacein those conditions which was fairly evident before even before the incident. Kimiwas nowhere near full race pace in the wet part of the circuit, if Hamilton hadremained behind Kimi through the chicane and in to the start finish straight,he would have been in the exact same overtaking position. He was 2 secondsbehind Kimi at the start of the lap when the rain came down and he made thattime up because he was more willing and better able to deal with theconditions. He would have been in a position to overtake Kimi on the startfinish had he not cut the chicane out which he was forced to do by Kimi closingthe door on him. If Hamilton had rear ended Kimi again I am sure there wouldhave been tears and tantrums at the Scarlet HQ. I think we are also forgettingthat after Kimi retook the lead after the chicane, he made at least two blockingmaneuvers that I saw to try keep Lewis behind him, which I believe contravenesthe rules also. Kimi span and hit the wall because he was under pressure and hecould not control his car in those conditions..... If his car was damaged bythe shunting Hamilton up the backside then I am sorry, he only had himself toblame.... In my opinion, Lewis won that race fair and square. The FIA have notonly made a decision that cost Lewis the victory, they have made a decisionthat has damaged the sport. There have been many occasions since last years spygate scandal that many have commented on the fact that Ferrari seem to hold thestrings that control the FIA puppets and I think today’s decision only servesto fuel these rumors.

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

    Let me sum it up,

Ferrari.... shuey... shuey on the FIA.... Hamilton not liked like last year because as a rookie how dare he make this sport look easy and take it in his first year so lets prevent him... and a lot of amazingly stupid regulations that has made the sport a waste of viewing time for the real honest fan.

I love Farrari but that was a Hamilton win, he did not gain the advantage on the bus stop, he gained it on the weather change and better tyres you stupid idiots<<< FIA and Shuey

I hope Mclaren walk away from this year to teach them a lesson, if they are trying to extend the viewing figures to the end of the season, then by leaving, I think that will reduce the figures to nil, poor them.

Weldone Hamilton, you won that race, they just didn't like it so they took their ball home.

    What race were you watching?

If it was Spa Better go to Specsavers love.

Lewis won that race fair and square, don't tell me your a Ferrari supporter or a steward or a member of the FIA

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

The problem is that we as fans have now way to call the FIA up on these decisions.

The decision is a disgrace but what can we do about it? Time and time again we are forced to endure this type of back room bartering for wins. They keep this up and there is no doubt that this World Championship won't be decided on the track, it'll be decided by the old school ties.

I call for more FIA accountability! There should also be F1 Fan representation, it's not just McClaren the FIA are walking all over, it's us. Time for it to stop!
