I'm watching some wildlife programme now and I don't understand why a bloke stalking rhinos is wearing a bright orange shirt????

In a word, Rhinos are colour blind. Ok, in 4 words! So are bulls, dogs, cats (I think) and, indeed, many of the animal world. Chameleons (if that is how to spell it) are also colour blind.

So, in fact, is my dad!

Definitely one he thinks he looks good in - teamed with tight cream trousers, orange socks and tan boots - just the thing for stalking rhino!!  It's that skinny South African chap that I always think is called Austin Powers but isn't!

Wow he sounds like a right fasion victim....good earlier point about the Rhino being colour blind though....

I briefley watched American Wife Swap and as per usual it was pants but i still had to watch it because it irritated me and i have a tendancy to do that...weird

OK, so rhinos etc are colour blind, what about hippos, he was hanging around hippos too - and elephants.  I did learn that if an elephant flaps it's ears that means it's angry, so that could come in useful.........

I know what you mean about American Wife Swap, Hump - I don't start watching that because I always end up shouting 'Why are you so stupid' loudly and repetitively and it upsets the neighbours!

Yeah, i heard dogs cant look up either. But how do tell if they are colourblind? And how come if you wear red, bulls charge if they dont know its red?
