I've noticed that they have started going up over the weekend. Still a bit early for me yet, as much as I love Xmas I try and leave the decorations til mid December and then I take them down on New Years Day (this goes back to a previous thread about putting a stamp on your home and I said I like it looking spotless - Xmas decorations make it a bit cluttered for me! lol).

hahahaha lol my cousin has already lol. My mom loooooooooooooves x mas so can't wait to get em up lol she was wrapping up th eother day lol. My mom ususally gets em up by th e1st of December then adds more and thinks we don't notice lol.

I hate to break it to people......but Christmas isn't until 25th DECEMBER and we're not even at 25th NOVEMBER!!!! It's completely mad to be putting up decorations yet!! Completely highlights the total commercialism and total disregard for what Christmas IS!!!

Having your Christmas decorations up before December is just sad IMO.  Christmas is at the END of December.  No need to put them up til at LEAST December the 1st.

Everyone to their own but it's far too early for me - mine go up about 2 weeks before & come down the day after New Years day but they have been down as early as Boxing day - I'd had enough of them  - Bah humbug !!!

Christmas decorations up already??? You've got to be joking. Mine won't go up until a couple of days before Christmas and if I put them up now I would be sick of them by Christmas and what about all the dust they collect?

Other religious festivals aren't begun 1.5- 2 months before the actual festival - so why do people think it "ok" for Christmas? And why is it "each to their own" - why is it ok for people to hijack Christmas for entertainment value?

Have never understood any of that - if anyone can explain it to me, other than saying "I love Christmas", so let's have it for 2 months......, I 'd be very interested to hear......!!!!

  we  put  our decorations  up  a   week before Christmas  and that  way  it's  more exciting  and you don't get tired of them  !

We don't put ours up until the 2nd week in December. I live in a small village in Wales and already there are houses with indoor and out door decorations up. One neighbour of mine put them outside yesterday and another is doing it as I type this lol! They do look nice, but I'd be bored with them............plus think of how much your next electricity bill is going to be!!!!!!

Yes, I am with you we put ours up the second Saturday in December and although I love Christmas I am always glad to take them down on the 2nd January each year.

 I put them up 2 weeks before and take them down 2nd Jan- Can't, stand having Christmas cards and Birthday cards all up at the same time!

Around here (Georgie with belie me no doubt) its usually like the Griswalds on each house.

Years ago when the kids were small I would have poor MrB get up the ladder and put small white lights on the whole house, the large Chestnut tree on the lawn and the two Bay trees we have on the step!!!!There would be our son squeeling to him to hurry up, as he was at the foot of the ladder well into the evening,if not the next day (well, we let him sleep in-between!!!!) till it was all complete. Now, he refuses to do it- so , I just put the lights on the bay trees and have a lovely Christmas wreath on the door- The kids ( er- 26 and 22, joke ) call us scrooges! lol

As for indoors, well, the control freak that I am will not let any one participate in the erections!!!I must have full control of the two trees and the Garland down the stairs, these must be Silver and White, with hand tied bows over all the trees and Garlands, on both stairs and mantlepiece and woe betide anyone that knocks or re-arrages said expertly put -up Decs!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
