    Esther's 'Hissy Fit'

I have read that Esther's reaction to the camp fire has been called a 'hissy fit'.

Perhaps if they had sat through programmes on fires as she had they would have taken it more seriously, or if Amanda Redman has been amongst them.

I think her face when they laughed and lampooned her showed such devastation at being treated that way that she must have been glad to leave and appreciated even more the way David was being treated.

Pity she didn't defend him then.  Whilst Martina just laughed quietly to herself, Nicola's reaction was particularly cruel.  She should do well as a lampooner - that's what most "comedy" seems to consist of nowadays - taking the mick out of others.

Having said that Esther did sound a bit ridiculous when she mentioned her consumer programme. plug plug ..  Still very cruel to take the mick the way Nicola did though.

    I agree with you Nemisis.

That Brian P*****k behaved like a hooligan or a yob. No; I correct myself. I have never heard of a hooligan or a yob throwing fire around onto combustible material the way he did. How did he ever get to be a senior policeman. Thank heavens he never made it as Mayor of London.

Come to think of it...Easter would make a really great Mayor of London.

In my opinion Brian P*****k is so busy being PC in some ways he is "isting" all over the place in less popular PC spheres. Would he have laughed and jeered at Easter if she had been young? black? male? gay?  I think I know the answers.

Although she did look faintly ridiculous spouting about her consumer programme while she was looking for every last spark, it was very cruel of Nicola to lampoon her the way she did.  Nicola should do well on today's comedy circuit though.

Apologies for repeating myself earlier.  I thought the other messages had been rejected so rephrased what I'd typed.

tbh I was expecting Simon to win on the grounds that if he was vote off there'd be accusations of racism.

    Re: Esther's 'Hissy Fit'

I think we are long past all that, at least with the majority rosiet 2008.

Proof? If Simon were only getting "black" votes he would not have lasted long as there are not enough black people to keep him in. So he was obviously getting votes from "everyman and woman" if I can put it that way. Being black did not keep him in nor did it get him out.

He was kept in because he is a great bloke and he went out because he did not cause controversy.

My point about Brian is that he was being far too PC to Simon and far too anti-PC to Esther. Maybe whilst he was trying to set fire to the camp he forgot that Esther is Jewish!!

He has shown himself to be a creep and Esther has shown herself to be a really great person. (By the way I am not Jewish). In fact I would rather have Esther by my side in an emergency than Brian 30-years-in-the-police-force anyday.

Makes you wonder what the rest of the police are like in London. Oh, thats right, I live in London. Most of them are sycophantic whatsits who are scared to go out on the streets of London in case they DO NOT meet with someone nasty and have to adnit that London is a great place to live.

P.s. to Esther, sorry to have spelt you name wrongly

I think you will find she did and so did Joe, until she left.

She did when she left - can't remember her saying anything while she was there - unless it's one of the earlier episodes I didn't catch.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think it was Esther who intervened when the were all standing over David whilst he was seated on the ground and having a go at him - she pointed out how bad it was to do so.

We may be long past racism but accusations at racism often occur even when no racism has taken place and I'm still surprised there was no such accusation made when Simon was voted off.

Yes you're quite right nemesis.  I started watching half way through so didn't see Esther's defence of him until last night when I was catching up on earlier episodes.  She was like a mother hen with him and I don't think it was entirely justified given that he entered the camp with an attitude - they had after all spent 6 days outside before he arrived so why should they have given up their beds and/or a luxury item for him and Timmy?
