    Rabbit Run 2009

Hope this works. teams will be formed over the next week or so. We are planning (unless poiple don't want) to keep the teams as they were in 2008. So far my team, team 1 and this years victor is looking good. The teams on the 2009 page will be updated soon.

    Re: Rabbit Run 2009

I think its best to keep these teams as last year where possible. The teams seemed pretty evenly matched. Just got to make sure we come 1st instead of 2nd next year!!

Did you say something about going to Riems or am i wrong??

    Re: Rabbit Run 2009

Hi dudes hope you are all well. Its about time we got this forum going again, so all input welcome. Not long now chaps (don't mention dates on the forum) and i can't wait. I need to change my name as most of you know the turbo has goneCrying and now have an M3, which i have to say is a very good car, not as fast as the turbo though!!

So the stage is set and the players are eagerly waing in the wings. Next week we will start placing you in teams, we may do it as we did last year and drip feed this to you, so a car put in each team every 3 days, that kind of thig, childish i know but it is good fun. Anyway get busy and get posting

    Regards

    Craig

    Re: Rabbit Run 2009

Thought I'd do my first post.

Complete 'noob' to the event and bricking it now it's getting close. After much deliberation I've decided to try and complete the AMG 63 range by adding my ML into the equation. A quirky car for sure, and quite probably one of the most pointless cars ever made, but is great fun.

Looking forward to the upcoming banter and getting to meet everyone for what I'm sure will be an outstanding 3 days.

    Hi Andy

well done mate you found us and good to have you on this years run. The ML63 will be great and i am sure will supprise a few people, i think the only time you will miss you M3 is on the twisty stuff. The roads when we get to around 20 miles from from the ring are awsome, proper M3 terrotory, but i would love to see the look on the faces off the unsusspected as they take you on on dragrace, any way all good stuff.

Any a mate of mine has just booked on (car 10) in an awesome Morgan Aero 8, looking forwards to a blast with him.

    Howde Martyn

Yes mate this year team 1 will not be happy with anything less than victory, Team 3 winning last year was a bit mad.

On the subject of Reimes, yes we are hoping to visit the historic F1 circuit there on the way back it is en route so should be doable and gives an oppertunity to regroup for our last stint on our way back to our home bound crossing.

    Re: Rabbit Run 2009

Dont discount it in the twisty stuff, I remember from track tests (in the hands of a capable driver) that the ML actually kept up with an Elise, of course, I'm far from capable and appreciate that the car is probably better at going round corners than I am.

And of course, roll on Tuesday for some tweaks to the 'bus' ;)

    Hi Chris

Welcome and good to have you on board. On the subject of camera's you will get some top pics. We are bringing a 2 man profession camera crew on the trip with us, however the best bits of the fils are always the funnies in the cars, so we ask if you all can bring a digital video camera with you. We will supply the tapes and collect them at the end of the trip so we can edit the relative bits into the film. The tapes will be posted back to you when we have finished with them, or given back to you at the reunion.

Hi Andy good to have you on too. Is the aero 8 realy a timbre chassis like the other Morgan's

No Big Smile bonded aluminium, like Lotus and Aston (?) and others but if I had a quid for everytime I was asked that.... and another quid for the "is it a kit car".... Cool

    Re: Rabbit Run 2009

It's as wooden as it gets! I've got a Morgan dealer in the next village and managed to get a test drive a couple of years back in an Aero 8 - awesome! The noise it makes is utterly addictive.

Hey everyone, Paul from Shine On here. Craig & Jon have kindly asked me to tag along again, stand on guard with screen/bug/brake dust patrol and try to offer whatever help I can along the way. I'll be assisted this time by a good friend of mine, Danny, to try and keep your cars looking their best.

If anyone feels their car's might benefit from a good polish and wax before the event to having them looking mint, and keep the bug splats easy to remove, drop me a line and I'll make sure you get a good deal - please mention Rabbit Run when you contact me though.

For the new Rabbit Runner's, be assured you'll have an absolute blast. Even in a work capacity, last year was an incredible experience for me and all the participents were 100% diamonds. Blimey, I even managed to enjoy the journey in my trusty Transit Connect, although the drive up to Chamonix was a real test of all 90bhp....might have to look under the sofa for some more this year, and after the twisty hairpins on the way down, I thought my co-pilot Edd would never look the same colour again. The Shine On van will be making an appearance on a certain famous circuit too!

Andy - keep the back seats of the Big Bus spare for once I've put the van on it's roof.....;)

My camera uses SD cards (modern tech and all that :)) but I can always bring my laptop and rip them off for you at the end onto a DVD, if you use something like Final Cut that wont be an issue either as its what I use.

And heya Paul, back seats are on standby, just let me know what DVD's you'd like me to put in for you ;)

I did for a minute think you were asking to go round the ring in the 'bus' in the back seat, but that would be madness Devil

As for not being in team 1.....i can forsee some sly dodgy bloke editing a certain nav DVD to put all the cameras out by about 1km Cool
