    Tony vs Len

Could you imagine abetter clash of villains? Tony being the refined and dignified with money andpower and Len with his street cred and “associations.” Who do you figure wouldcome out on top?

Tony really deserved the gong for soap awards villain of the year. In last nights episode he made my blood run cold. Pure evil. We're dealing with a person who has crossed the bounds of sanity. He can come across as so convincing, so plausible and in Maria's case, so sympathetic (I am sure his feelings for Maria are sincere) but inside his head is a writhing nest of vipers waiting to inflict their venom. I'd put my money on Tony every time.

I can see where you’re coming from and I totally agree, but for meI would have to put my money on Len. In the past few weeks Tony has been bestedby Luc of all people... not to say I that I think Luc will come out on top inthe end, but it was a surprise to say the least, and does show Tony can be blindsided.

Len however comes off as pure evil… almost psychotic.  WhenJoe confronted him about threatening Tina and said he had nothing to lose Lenwas all to inviting of the confrontation. No emotion, no fear.

    Re: Tony vs Len

I see Len as physically very violent.  I think he would probably kneecap someone or perhaps break their fingers without a second thought.  But I am sure he would not plan or commit murder.  Tony shies away from physical confrontation  -  he is very vicious with words but I dont think he is hot blooded.  He doesn't strike out in anger.  He has a deep smouldering malevolence.  He plans.  He takes his time.  His soul is in a very dark place.  He is working on gathering information about Luke and when the time comes, he will strike.  The man scares me!

Certainly freaked Natasha out, though she was being a bit bunny boilerish.  What was that he said to her about jealousy being a very ugly emotion - the words 'pot', 'kettle' and 'black' sprang to mind.

    Re: Tony vs Len

I thought that the interaction between Natasha and Maria was very unconvincing - surely Nat might have known that Maria would go telling on her to Tony.  Natasha's behaviour around Tony also seems quite contrived and overly clingy; her character had been quite bouncy, ebullient and down to earth prior the Tony fascination.  And would Tony really go for Nat, even if she does represent a quick roll in the hay and nothing more?  Surely he was still devastated over Carla leaving when they first got together plus she's so different to Carla, both physically and psychologically.  Can't imagine why Tony has endured Nat's silliness for so long.

When Tony talked about jealousy being a very ugly emotion, I wondered if he was thinking of the terrible deed he had committed because of jealousy.

    Re: Tony vs Len

I think Tony is far more frightening, the slooow way he talks, people who are genuinely scary always talk slowly and quietly have you noticed? Plus he got someone murdered as we all know and he thought he had murdered Jed Stone.

Len Windbag is just a plonker IMO, I find him about as scary as a raspberry jelly.   I cant take anyone seriously in a 1980s football managers sheepskin coat!

oooh I talk slow and quite... but everyone always says I have a very soothing voice. Maybe they're lying because they are afraid of me Indifferent

Absolutely - Len is a panto character who just goes around gurning and baring his teeth.  No contest at all in the dark villain stakes; Tony wins all the way.  Shame he's not a bit taller...

I was so chuffed when Eddie gave Len his marching orders.  Hope he is now written out of Corrie and the writers continue to make the Windass parents and son more likeable.
