Re: Fern's White Dress and the Colour of Phillip's Skin

    leren:

No no no, the dress is hideous! Fern is gorgeous...the dress is hideous!

Phillip on the other hand is a silver fox and I fear it's Fern's dress that is causing the studio lights to reflect off his face.

Re: Fern's White Dress and the Colour of Phillip's Skin

I also think she looks amazing. She has grown in confidence and must enjoy every last minute of choosing regular sized dresses off the peg which show off her new figure and make her feel so good. You can tell she feels good as she wears the clothes with confidence and great style. Leave her alone all you meanies, only those who have truly battled with a weight problem can really appreciate the feeling of exhiliration when putting on fab clothes instead of opting for a safe balck wardrobe of unfashionable and figure disguising clothes. Fern hasn't just transformed physically, surgically aided or not, she has grown personally from the experience and has inspired several thousand women in the process I suspect.  Go for it Fern!!

Re: Fern's White Dress and the Colour of Phillip's Skin

    Well said snowy & slimtart.

Time to leave off all this criticism of Fern, she has done amazingly well and deserves to be proud of her new slim firgure.

She looks great and why should she hide her attributes.

it just seems to me that people just look to find fault instead of being kind and complimentary.

Have some compassion and think how you would feel if people said things like this about you.

Re: Fern's White Dress and the Colour of Phillip's Skin

WELL I THINK FERN LOOKED FAB IN THAT DRESS. I LOVE HER STYLE THE DRESS WAS DIFFERENT TO HER USUAL CHOICE, BUT I LOVED IT. MANY PEOPLE WOULD FIND IT HARD TO CARRY IT OFF ESPECIALLY THAT WINTER WHITE COLOUR BUT IT REALLY SUITED HER COLOURING. I DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE NEED TO BE SO RUDE, HAVE THEY NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR TIME ??Big Smile

Re: Fern's White Dress and the Colour of Phillip's Skin

If you bought The Sun newspaper today they have even run a story on the dress in question.

I agree many could find it hard to carry off if your over a size 10 as that's the size you need to be to carry off that style and colour.

However my inital comments where only made as I was snowed in and would normally be at work so usually I am not that interested in what Fern Britton is wearing but on that particular day I was soooooooo bored!!!!

Re: Fern's White Dress and the Colour of Phillip's Skin

I was looking at Fern this morning, and I confirmed what I had been thinking yesterday, that I hope she is not going to loose too much more weight. She is looking quite thin, especially around the top of her chest area.

My favourite outfir by far has been the light coloured trousers and cardi she wore the morning after she couldn't get home the night before because of the snow - fab fab fab

    Re: General chit chat....

I was just reading through some of the Messages posted online for Jade. As a suggestion, ( and I'm sure you have recieved a few ) would it not be a lovely idea to make a book for each of the boys of all the wishes of love and support for them and their mum, as a keepsake and to remind them in the future of how loved and admired for her strength of character, their mum was to so many people. It would also be another way of making them feel close to her through other peoples thoughts. Another suggestion for the brooch / pin idea I had, with Jade also being a semi precious stone maybe the colour Jade should be in it somewhere. I also think just as for breast cancer, an appeal should be set up each year in Jades name and maybe instead of doing a marathon or walkathons, city parks should host a mass workout for ex amount of hours because it's not everyone who wants go walking or running for miles and hours, even though it's only one day in the year, because of their size some people just can't run or even walk very far but they could stand on the spot and do some light exercise. To stand and do a workout you will burn up just as many calories, kickstart your metabolism and maybe even encourage people to join a fitness club so therefore having a knock on effect for the country. I also think and have done for a while, that just as we have blood donor vans there should be vans for smear testing and the inside of it would be colourful not clinical, comfortable, relaxing, gentle music playing ( with ONLY female nurses and doctor's on board ) almost as though you were at home or even in Jades salon and not a mobile hospital environment. Our society are very much of the belief that the female private area is just that, private and it should not be touched until the day you are married it's engrained in our psychi or that with so much sexual abuse being reported by the media this also adds to the fear factor. We need to try and alleviate this fear for young girls and women in order to save their lives it's our duty as a society to teach these frightened women that there is a very positive reason why they should have the smear test done. IT ONLY TAKES 1 MINUTE TO DO. One minute out of the year to save your life. I really hope you will take this idea forward ITV, this outcome for Jade could have been completely different if smear testing could come to the patient and not the other way around and a new approach put in place to kill this fear that's being bred in society at the moment. Having looked online at the Jade flower from China it is a beutiful delicate flower tipped with pink on it's petals, that would be the perfect Pin design to honour Jade for the Smear Test Appeal / Campaign. With a more expensive version having a little crystal in the centre and the stem made from real Jade. I know Jade brought out a few perfumes but with this flower and Jade colour ( not everyone likes the colour pink as in the Breast Cancer Campaign) many more items even T Shirts etc could be produced, with the bulk of the proceeds going to the Jade Goody Smear Test Appeal /Campaign to keep the mobile units running and to cover any other costs required, with a little help from the Government. The mobile unit at first would only be out for one week in the year and monitor the response from the public and go forward from there. In the future, from here on, a smear test should be like going for a dental check up, completely painless and only once a year and every woman who uses the mobile unit gets a free flower pin ( normally they would be £1 to purchase ) and a Jade Goody lip gloss to show off the wide smile you would be wearing ( only at the mobile unit ) just like Jade's, because you had been for your test.

    Re: General chit chat....

    Hi all

I apologise for replying to this thread but cant seem to start a new thread.

Am I the only one who finds Eammon the most annoying presenter ever. He constantly talks over guests and other presenters, and completely ruins the programme for me.

Please tell me im not alone.
