Even when you can find recipes reproduced online, which is usually fraught, you can't always trust them. Last week I wanted to make a black forest gateaux for the first time so googled the recipe, the webpage I chose was a Jamie Oliver one (purely by chance) and the list of ingredients for a cake made with 3 x 7" cake tins called for 1.2kgs, YES, KILOS of black cherries!
The good news is, I navigated to another website, Nigella's (again pure chance) and the plaudits I received for the gateaux were gushing, top quality recipe
