    Androids

We´ve come a long way in science since R2D2 and C3PO - androids are infinitely more human in their mannerisms and appearance.

We should applaud the producers of Corrie for taking the brave step of actually using an android actor but, really, there is a long way to go. Real people have expressions, they smile, they frown and (sadly) after about 30, they have facial lines.

The android playing Carla was, in so many ways, incredibly lifelike and the script had been programmed in perfectly but science needs to go still further before andriods can really be "human".

That's what Botox will do for you!  Carla in Corrie reminds me of Chastity Dingle in Emmerdale, the same puppet-like expressionless face, and irritating nasal twang, TOWNAY, PADDARH.   Perhaps they are aliens from another planet.

Totally agree with you. Sometimes it would be wise to let characters who leave keep being left. This would be one of those occassions.

    Re: Androids

The Android is back, expressionless as ever.  She reminded me of Darth Varder standing there all in black.  Not happy to see her back.  Carla was a good character but that should have left, gone to LA and not returned, similarly to Leanne, they go off on maternity leave and the character is forgotton and seem out of place when they return a year later when lots of things have moved on.

    - and they still haven't quite got the skin colour right...... unless they are using Tina as an example. What is with this 'orange' tan?

    Re: Androids

The Orangina tanina is a symptom of living in the North-West.  Many women in Liverpool are similarly afflicted.  Tangerina has also been spotted in the environs of Essex, Glasgow and Newcastle and is particularly virulent on the skin of what is known as the Z list 'celebrity'.  Please send donations to the Jordan Price charity for Unseemly Satsuma-toned Skin.

    Re: Androids

Carla - the paranoid android - just get rid. A poor character who has long since past any useful service to the plot and now serves only as a warning to young women (and some men, I suppose) that fooling around with nature makes you look ..........well, just dead weird!!

    Re: Androids

When Carla first returned I expected her to have a fabulous tan after all that ime in LA, and she hadn't! Two weeks later, when she has been I don't know where, since the night she hit Jimmy, she now does have a permatan!
