We all know this season has been a bit ( understatement ) of a joke. With all the politics and scandals going on. But this latest move from mcclaren prompted me to sign up here and say what I have to say.
Personally I was sceptical of Hamilton at the start of the season, I knew some of his history in racing after reading up aout him... but expected him to be a midfield racer in F1, at least for his first season. As the season went on he proved himself time and time again, and proved that he's worthy of the drive he has.
Saying that, I dont want him to win the championship now. I didnt want Kimi to win all the way through the season, I never liked the guy... though admittedly he was deserved a win. Alonso I favoured early on, then later I started to despise him after his behavour towards his team, which is debateable at great length as ive seen from other parts of this forum, but lets not here please.
So back to Hamilton... Towards the second half of the season I really started wanting him to win... Not only cos im British, but because he's fought so hard for this throughout his racing career and pushed so hard, going on to prove himself in the ultimate motorsport. But if he was to win the championship, it should be won on the track... not in the courtrooms. Mcclaren made several mistakes this season strategy wise, mistakes they should just have to live with as partly costing them the championship. Hamilton made rookie errors, esp in this final race ( trying to get back past Alonso )... and he needs to accept that thats partly responsible also. Aswell as their problems with the gearbox.
Kimi is rightful winner of the 2007 championship... it should stay that way.
