So far Coronation Street has shown exactly what NOT to do as regards getting a dog  ( I shudder to think how many viewers will say ''What a good idea for Christmas!'')

That is -

- 'Go into 'town' to buy one for someone who might not even like dogs' - please!

Leave it alone all day - no sign of a basket , toys or even food.!

Hopefully this storyline will turn around into something positive - which could even prevent people buying dogs as disposable gifts

-  perhaps someone in the programme with a bit of common-sense and empathy like Chesney could come to the rescue by showing Liam how to look after a puppy properly and in so doing help the plight of neglected, mistreated and abandoned dogs, all over the country.
