if Lewis had held his line, he would have taken raikkonen out and caused an "avoidable accident" and then probably have been disqualified altogether. whatever he did, it appears he would have been penalised. lose-lose situation from the off.
i see Ferrari "made no initial complaint" yeah, right. I am convinced the stewards would have been considering an investigation, but if Ferrari came up and protested, they would have launched an investigation immediately. Which i believe is what happened?
There's nothing Lewis can do, whatever he does, he is watched. People go off the road sometimes, it happens. But how can the stewards say Lewis had more momentum if he backed off to let Raikkonen past? Which is followed by the question of why is it his fault if by nature the McLaren is able to put it's power down more efficiently in the wet than the Ferrari?
So what can Lewis do? Nothing, it seems. I remain convinced the FIA do not want to see him become world champion. Maybe this isnt the case, but they do themselves no favours if they want people to believe otherwise. They say they want more overtaking and more excitement, they get it, and then they ruin it. They are their own worst enemies.
If I were ITV, id be pleased to be rid of F1 in 2009, I can't see viewing figures getting any higher after yet another farce...can you?
