i have just looked at jeremy kyle helplines, and there is one missing.Gamblers, and families of them.i read somewhere, that he is a recovering addict, yet his programme is sponsered by 'bingo sites'.this country is going to have a rude awakening in about 20 years,if not sooner.we try to help alaoholics,in rehab,we try to help drug addicts,in rehab, where is there to go if u are a gambler? because u cant see physical signs of distress,it is not helped through the NHS.this country is in a crisis, cos of people overspending, these gaming sites, are so addictive there are people in debt for thousands of pounds, and because it is done secretly in your own home, nobody knows how much debt these people are racking up.they need help.my partner is addicted to rouleete machines in bookies, and cos u are not handing over 'real' money,u dont realise how much u are spending, the internet is the same.but what is really maddening to me is the fact that the government is promoting gambling everywhere,to get more taxes in,but i think eventually, the credit is going to outway the tax.i am not anti-gambling,everyone has the right to fun,but people with an addictive personalities, need somewhere to go for help.there is GA,but these are few and far between, sometimes having to travel 20 miles or so to get to one.the government need to realise the amount of people with this addiction, and do something about it,they spend thousands on rehabs for other addictions, just because u cannot physically see that these people are hurting themselves, and their families, why should they be treated differently?it is time it is recognised and give these people the help they need,to control it.i work,my taxes count as much as anyone elses, and at the moment,i would rather my taxes to go to help gamblers, just as much as any other addictions.any one out there agree?there must be people sat at their pc's wishing they had not just put next weeks bill money into the machine,or have just found out that their partner has just spent the holiday money.we need to act now, before this becomes a silent eperdemic
