All these new characters can only mean that current under used characters are going to have an even tougher time trying to get lines never mind storylines of their own. There are many of the existing cast that are either under used or their character never develops.

There is also a tendency in Emmerdale to bring in the new with Pomp and Ceremony only to see them deliver weak dialog and then be axed. So i guess that time will tell if all these new ones have staying power. In the meantime the under used characters wait in the wings for a word or two here and there.
