"mis-directed drag"???
If you ask me this poster is like a conjuror, full of mis-direction,always keeping the hands moving so you can't see they're fooling you.
Even the poster's username contains the number 666,usually taken (some say erroneously) as the number of the 'beast' ...perhaps a hint that they are playing 'devil's advocate' for mathematically unsupportable concepts?
I am beginning to suspect that even the typos are all part of the act.
This poster used to play the same game (and it is a game) on another forum -until they suddenly ‘disappeared’ from that forum ;)
The M.O is pretty much the same.
A dubious/questionable point or argument to draw in the punters, with a few hackneyed and ill typed follow ups. Then, suddenly launching in to vast wordy explanations and theories that belie former posts: questionable theories and explanations mixed in with some truths and half truths, all purporting to be truths. Ready for the unassuming responder to unravel.
On further argument with posters this escalates, with the OPer trying to draw from known (scientific) theories to support the OPt, but although relevant to the topic area these again are (deliberately) misapplied and misdirected, and where a theory doesn’t agree it is overlooked. This is where other posters will call the op into question, the response you guessed it will be accusation of personal attacks.
There will be a point where the olive branch is offered, then the build up will begin again starting on a slightly different point of attack (to keep you interested).
I think it’s interesting as a spectacle to watch, but don’t get involved as the op when arguing will not apply the same rules to himself as you. Basically you’d have to reinvent the wheel in front of him, for your evidence whereas he on the other hand satisfies himself with a hotchpotch of misapplied and ‘own theories’.
The facile and glib delivery is a clue to the nature and PURPOSE of the posts.
So you two have gone and blown up another side to this debate too!
Drag, scales, horizontal, slicks, velocity, pivoted!
I must say I was taken aback by someone of the layman replies, and then the big lengthy thesis by same posters!
Hey, it is always good to get a debate going no matter what, from the debate come knowledge, from knowledge comes learning and come learning comes more understand!
Still dont get the horizontal bit though!
I think at least 20 pages is the goal!! It's been a mixture of irritating and interesting - I'm sure we've all learned something useful- well if at least one person has it's worth it of course.
