Yeah, I agree. I remember when I couldn't wait for the next weekend to come around so I could watch F1 again. I was gutted when they started introducing Summer breaks too. Four weeks with no F1!?

But this season I'm just not bothered. It feels like some sort of transition season. It's like they're trying to fix all the rules for the future, and the racing is just there to keep the fans happy until the real F1 gets going again. I'm loving the fact that the usual big name teams are struggling, but it still doesn't seem like the F1 we all know and love(d).

I'm sure we were all buzzing with the topsy turvy grids and Jenson getting a very fast car, now I want the established top teams battling Brawn and Red Bull and I'd normally go for the underdogs.

Yes, it's funny, at first it was great to have a real change in the pecking order. But now it's like we're just waiting for the top teams to come back into it again. Wonder why we don't take Brawn and Red Bull quite as seriously as Ferrari etc. Maybe because they're not manufacturer teams?

I think we have to take Ross Brawn very seriously :) and Red Bull + Vettel hmm thats not a bad package either. I think we're agreed the title fight last year was what Macca and Ferrari were concentrating on.

Totally agree about Ross Brawn, the man is some sort of genius.

I have to admit that I have been in denial with regard to my ambivalence towards F1 this season.

I love the fact that the New Order are making their presence felt.

I love the new cars.

The coverage is no better nor worse than it was.

But that man Legard has got to go!
I can't stand his voice, his apparent lack of knowledge or his ignorance. His commentating style is totally and utterly at odds with Formula 1. His very approach has turned me off the sport that I love.

If you add that to the continual fetid stench of Max and Bernie's filthy washing being constantly aired in public then what is there, apart from Brawn's success, to get aroused about? And now to just to prove that lessons have not been learned we've got Branson messing with the media.

Listen up FIA, Fota et al........we know it's all about the money for at least pretend that the racing has got something to do with it!!!!

By the way...did I mention that Legard HAS GOT TO GO!!!

lol yes you're quite right the pair of you. When it comes down to it we will all be there eagerly waiting in the vain hope that we might just see an interesting race for once...Sorry to say this but the most entertaining thing about this season has been the banter between DC and EJ imo. Or perhaps I'm just suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Be ok by next weekend.

After me and many others slagging EJ off I think the dynamic has now changed and they're a great pairing, DC gets the odd dig in but EJ takes it in good spirits and is an entertaining guy, yes they're better than the racing just like in the old Hakinnen days his interviews were better than the racing.

I'm just reading EJ's autobiography. It's a really good read and he's certainly somebody who's been there and bought the tee-shirt as it were.

Yes I've read that and it was a great read, the guy is one helluva a grafter and entertaining, ive read lots of F1 biographies, there are some gems out there, forget the names and authors but of course James Hunts is at the forefront and the last Schumacher one is very illuminating

Rise above the politics and shenanigins and ignore all the unpleasantness of grown up people falling out and sulking because they did not get there own way, - it's the racing we love and it will be back next week, yea....(even if I have to put up with watching and listening to ham,)

OK, so it may or may not be your favourite driver at the top of the championship but when have we let get us down, we can all still be there, in front of the box, beer (or wine) in hand, big thick sandwich, packet of crisps or your favourite munchie, waiting for the red lights to go out, please say you will all be there, I know I will, wouldn't miss a race.

I'm with you; a two week gap is long enough let alone three. I'm sick of the off-track tosh and look forward to seeing some racing!

Absolutely agree jax and pedekay. I'm sure all of us will be there in Germany in spirit if not in person; putting the politics to one side for a while and seeing what the teams have been able to progress in the last weeks and seeing (what should be) the main attraction - the drivers - giving it the message!!

However, I'll be really interested to see what snake oil, smoke and mirrors are deployed in the run-up to this week's race! Gracious me - even Mr Legard might get off lightly this week.

I have followed F1 religiously since 1994 and this is by far the worse and most boring season i have ever seen.

What frustrates me most is the fact that it has been ruined because of all the rediculous and unnecssary rule changes. These have hurt the sport.

Something has to be done.

That's exactly how I feel.

Even 2004 was more exciting.
