Okay, so the majority of the residents on Coronation Street are supposed to be lower working class, unemployed, generally hard-up, right??

Then where do they get the money from to keep eating fish and chips, kebabs, and numerous meals at Roys Rolls, not to mention Betty's hotpot or sandwiches at the pub, as well as affording to wash it all down with Newton & Ridley's finest??

My husband and I are both teachers and cannot afford to live like that on our combined wages.

So how do they do it??

Two murderers in one Street

What are the statistics for two murderers having lived in the same Street ? Richard Hillman followed closely by Tony Gordon. It's a wonder anyone ever dare venture into the Street and a wonder that any house for sale ever gets sold . It is just too ridiculous for words and just so boring .The writers appear to be so stuck for storylines that they dredge up yet another murderer.

Is this how it goes at the writers conference "Hey we haven't had a murder for a couple of years . Let's bring another one in . Plot number 64, re-jigged. Viewers won't notice,. Can't think of anything else " Beggars belief !

Don't spoil Corrie with Nonsense in between

I would just like to express my disgust with regards to the VT just prior to the beginning of Coronation Street and after the first part which referred to and I quote:

"We are England"

can someone please explain to me what the hell that is all about. The best soap on the box at the moment which is thoroughly enjoyed by viewers from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Yet ITV have to let themselves down by displaying and advertising utter nonsense in between Corrie which may have been more appropriate prior to and in between a sporting occasion such as an England football or rugby game for that matter.

No wonder STV is trying to distance themselves from ITV which I thought stood for Independant Television!

Are we to expect "We Are Scotland" "We are Wales" or "We are Northern Ireland" in between future episodes of Corrie or is this par for the course these days....

ITV I am embarrassed for you, what a shame all your good work counts for nothing at times like this!

corrie -v- football and different times

Why oh why is it always Corrie that is kicked off our screens in favour of **** football?

to me corrie is a laugh and very entertaining, yet football is like watching paint dry!

Also, is corrie perminantly on thursdays instead of wednesdays now? i thought they only moved it because of the football but tonight there is no football and also no corrie on wednesday. but last week it was on, on wednesday and thursday, and i missed wednesdays epesode because they never told us it was going to be on on that day.

Why do ITV keep moving the days around and after the eppesode they never tell us when the next one will be shown.

Also why cant they run the football and corrie at the same time, after all they do have itv2 itv3 and itv4 at their disposal

I am a little confused as to why Molly is working in the corner shop. In the past that job has usually fallen to mum's wanting to fit a few shifts in with looking after the kids, or teenagers - like Amber - who need a bit of extra cash. But Molly is a newly married, albeit cheating, young woman, who would surely need a better job than that, perhaps in nearby Manchester.

I know that the scriptwriters like to keep the characters in the street, but surely in some cases it would be more realistic to have them returning from work in the city.

Just a thought - wonder if any of you agree???

I just cannot believe Tony Gordon, threatening both Roy AND Hayley!! What is he thinking of, he knew they would go to the police about it. Also, no-one has reminded him of his murderous intent towards his tenant(I can't remember his name now). He had him strapped to a chair, then put him into a trunk, thinking that he had killed him!! Then, of course,he hires a guy to run over and kill Liam, Maria's intended. Surely, he should be stopped very soon, after all, he IS a murderer!!

Michelle is jumping into bed with a dodgy roofer whom she has only just met, and is apparently about to have a sleazy affair with Ryan's best mate, schoolboy Ben.

Molly is behaving like a dog on heat every time Kevin comes sniffing around.

And Rosie will drop her knickers for anyone.

Have the scripwriters been locked up in a room somewhere for far too long, forced into celibacy until they can come up with something new?

Recently the soap has begun to look more and more like a male adolescent's fantasy.

Am 100% sure that the writers are not women, they would never allow such stereotypical slush to grace our screens

Just watched Corrie when Tony suffered the heart attack on the Street. Did anyone else notice the BIG mistake? the two paramedics were both sat in the front of the ambulance when leaving the Street to take the heart attack victim to hospital. Surely one of them should have been in the back with Tony monitoring his condition on the way to hospital. Who is responsible for showing the Greater Manchester Ambulance service in a bad light?

I'm sorry but after watching the so called builder nearly kill himself while working on Michelles roof I think I should point out that any one in the building trade that spends years training in an apprenticeship and then working further years out on sites building up a good rep' would most definately not then go and risk a sexual assault libal thrown at them by randomly kissing any gorgeous woman that they were suddenly alone in a room with. (life saved or not!) I know it's just a story line to introduce a character but his whiter than white vest and hooded sweater stank more of 'male model' than someone used to scrambling around roofs and mixing cement. I used to be in the building trade and fair play I met my fair share of stunning housewifes, but asking if they were married or single and then attacking them with a full on snog would probably have landed me with three weeks in the jail rather than a simple "get out!" yelled at me. As stunning as Kym Marsh is there's a line that a 'proffessional tradesman' wont cross for reasons explained. I felt as though this new character was rushed in, instead of a more believable build up storyline.

Once again I see Maria's (and Kirk's) parents are conspicious by their absence. You would think they would at least turn up for their first grandchild's christening!! Weren't there when she lost Liam (well not right away), again missing when she had the baby, I know Helen is annoying at times (Barry is not so bad) but at least they have been there for Maria each time. Rather nasty comment Helen made when it was suggested Kirk stand in for Tony.

Whatever happened to Michelle's real birth son??

Remember the storyline a year or so ago when Michelle discovered that Ryan was not her birth son but the son of some other couple whose son had got mixed up with hers at the hospital!!!

Why doesn't this boy feature in the street anymore? Afterall if he is her real birth son surely he would appear from time to time. Not that Michelle is seen too often with her other son Ryan either, in fact sometimes it is as if the single parent hasn't a care in the world, working late hours in the pub then making out with some boyfriend or other. I bet there are lots of parents, single and otherwise, who wish that their kids could become so conveniently invisible.

Samia's first child was born at 10am on Monday 19 October weighing 7lb 2oz. Samia and her husband Matthew have named their little girl, Freya.

Congratulations Samia and Matthew!

Samia first discovered she was pregnant at the same time as her character Maria was pregnant with Liam Connor's baby.

Talk about unrealistic!! Granted it would be pretty boring tv seeing her being told "your call is very important to us...." but still.......!!!

Hi, I`m really hoping someone can help me with this!

Does anyone know the title,or artist, of the song being played as Tony and Maria had their heart to heart on the sofa in Friday nights 2nd episode (16/10/09)?

I couldn`t hear any of the lyrics apart from the words "Can you feel...." but vocalist is backed by an orchestra!

I know this is a bit vague but I can`t get the melody out of my head!
