Not really a one-liner but best scene this week was Vernon dancing round the golf course because he had potted the ball (or whatever the term is in golf!). Reminded me of Del & Rodney winning the millions. Hardly comparable in terms of what was achieved but it doesn't take much to make some people happy. And that's another reason why Vernon's an asset to the street.

Does anyone remember Ena Sharples (1960's) saying to her friends how her mother died:-

"She just sat down......broke wind...and died."

I think Minnie got up then and offered her a bottle of stout, and Ena replied something like "Aye it must be your round Minnie Caldwell."

Jerry (top man for) defending Teresa "I know she's know angel but she's been here when I needed her". Such a pity his trust is misplaced (by all accounts).

Dev to Vernon "Rush you? Rush you? You've been in that bunker since half past five!!!

Vernon's speech on wearing what he wanted to wear at the golf course (How shallow did Dev seem compared to the guy they met on the golf course who helped Vernon by giving tips on how to play better rather than judging him on what he was wearing). Or maybe his intentions weren't as altruistic as first appeared considering he has a daughter he wants to marry off - (to a wealthy retailer who has a string of shops perhaps?)

A great couple one liners in Emmerdale the other week from Ely to Sam and Ely to Lisa:-

Ely to Sam in regard to Sam telling Pollard that he had started the fire at the factory (Ely wondering if Sam had mentioned that Ely was involved) "Is that No! as in No? or No! as in Yes? then a little later when Lisa was asking what was going on:-

Lisa to Ely "And what are you getting out of it?" (After she's ranted about the argument between Ely and Sam over the factory fire.)

Ely to Lisa "Blooming ear ache, that's all I'm getting"

Classic!!!

p.s. whatever he meant as regards cats, he was mistaken to use the comparison with Becky. Cats are beautiful creatures. If anything it was an insult to cats.

No I'm sure you're right. Roy would never be so brutally honest. And trouble is, people like Becky leave others too particularly when they sleep around with MARRIED men.

I,m sure Roy probably meant Alley Cat. I doubt if he would know what a slapper is, or if he did, would use the word.

Can't see why Becky was so upset about being likened to a stray cat. Stray cats are fiercely independent creatures. He could have called her something worse - like a grade 1 slapper (would have been nearer the mark too!).
