Oh Bernie....what have you done?

I've always admired the way you have made millions (billions) from the sport we all love....you're a very clever man. Now, if the press is to be believed, you have become the greediest person on the planet. F1 is one of the major industries in the UK, employing thousands of people. You however, are just thinking pounds in your pocket and it would appear that you're quite happy to let next season continue without a British GP. You are an incredibly wealthy man....how about helping Donngton continue with what they have already done? You'll no doubt make a profit!

I doubt if you actually read these things but, just in case, I can't begin to tell you how unpopular you will be if the British GP doesn't happen next year. GET A GRIP WITH REALITY!!!

F1 does no longer need LH in its ranks as he is now a proven liar & a cheat and all the grovelling to the media is never going to repair the facts. The only thing as I can see is the fact he was found out & as a result the FIA should remove his license and throw him out of the sport as no respectable sport should tolerate cheats & liars. It would also send a message to anybody else that thought they could get away with cheating just what they would get as a punishment. I suppose he had to resort early in the season to cheating as now he is only driving an average car and with his limited ability it would be the only chance he would have of retaining his first undeserved world title.

Personally I think this overpaid arrogant little boy racer should be thrown out of formula one before somebody gets killed by his totally reckless behaviour behind the wheel.

Ihave followed F1 for more years than I care to remember and to hear Lewis Hamiltons name compared to the likes of Ayrton Senna & Michael Shumacher is ludicrous in the extreme I would not trust him with a Reliant Robin.

My point was proved earlier this year when he crashed into the back of a Ferarri showing the world he didnt know a red light means STOP.

I personally look forward to a day without Lewis Hamilton trying to drive a gloryfied German taxi around the worlds race circuits.

Please MASSA beat this child on Sunday and shut this cocky arrogant bighead up once & for all

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good time during the festive period and you and wish your and yours all the best for 2009!

I must have been a good boy this last year as my fiancee bought me a 3 day pass (19-21 June 2009) so that me and my son can watch F1 in real time!!!!!!!

Anyway, we are camping through Praxis at the Grand Prix Village at Wittlebury Park (Kennels Area)

Can anyone help me with regards to travelling to the circuit from Luton Airport?

New Website - No Market Research?

Well it truly is awful and defies all conventions as to good design and clearly has gone down badly. Any broad market research would have avoided the new site being designed as it has been and it overlooks the fact that people ultimately want accessible, clear information. It is cluttered, dark, slow, uninspiring and as aregular ITVF1 user I am finally switching back to Autosport - shame on the whole lot of you for missing the point so massively.

New rules :

Team orders are banned (if telemetry shows you lift the throttle to let your team mate through you are both penalised. Each team has two drivers, so each team has two "chances" to win points. Each driver goes for their own points regardless of their team mates' championship standings.

If all four wheels leave the track at bends/corners/chicanes etc (i.e. LH at Monza) to gain track position you lose the place and get awarded a penalty.

Qualifying is simplified - you all get a set amount of time on the track during the two days qualifying, using whatever fuel load you like, and whichever tyres you like. You get a maximum of say 30 minutes on the track, totalling no more than 5 race timed laps, and that's it. Best time determines grid position as ever.

Or, just to make it even easier - each driver gets to race round the track five times - the mean average of those five laps will determine your place on the grid. Sounds fair to me.

You can change your engine anytime you like during the season without penalty, so if you need to use everything you've got to try to beat the other drivers, you don't have to worry about how well the engine will perform in the next race. It is supposeed to be racing, after all !

You can use Bridgestone or Michelin.

O.K. I'm ready to be cussed and maligned by y'all.

Go ahead, vent your spleens, go for it.

I'd just like it to be much more exciting to watch, as it used to be, but without all the ridiculously restricting regulations recently brought in. It'd be nice to return to good competitive spririt between the teams, rather than the bitchiness that seems to have been casting a shadow over everything in the last couple of seasons.

Well, after calming down with a stiff drink, getting my voice and composure back I can say that whilst I'm utterly utterly chuffed Mr Hamilton won the Championship, I have to say also that I am very very impressed with Mr Massa as he drove a fine race and between these to boys they have supplied the whole world with a great driving season. So THANK YOU to both these boys. I'll also be very sad to say goodbye to the ITV F1 crew who have kept us all so well informed and, at times, felt as we all did, the ups and downs of the season. I think the only thing I'll miss will be the advertisements and the racism that has reared its ugly head again this year.

Just a thought though, it seems poetic that Louis lost the championship last year by one point and won it this year by one point. It sort of levels the two seasons off to a pleasing equality if you see what I mean.

Oh dear now we see the Hamilton camp going for the big sympathy vote to get the crowd &officials behind him to win the WDC. Skin colour is irrelevant he just happens to have a really dislikable personality. But as usual these days when popularity of star is low along comes an agent or public relations expert saying lets go for the public sympathy that will increase his popularity( I think not) I suppose they are really just trying to put these thing out so it will be easier to make excusses on Sunday for LH blowing another WDC

Mark, if Max and Bernie are really interested in pushing green technologies, why try to impose the new rules limiting engine development on the manufacturers?

Mark, if Green technology is the destination, why not allow even more engine innovation and development, along with imposing fuel restrictions? Meaning, if a race will cover 200 miles, then each car will receive 40 gallons of hi-octane pump gas, which requires each car to achieve 5 mpg.
That's an example.

This could be slowly increased over time, and with some forward vision, allow teams to pursue diesel power. Impose even greater fuel restriction, say 6 or 7 mpg on diesel powered cars, while allowing larger engines and forced induction as an enticement to pursue such development.

Such a path would allow F1 to continue to be the world leaders in automotive innovation, and not allow Bernie and Max to turn it into an open wheel version of Nascar, where everything is restricted, no new technologies can be exploited, and where the racing is basically like high speed rush hour traffic.

Hi, I like the new website layout and forgive me if this comment is not strictly about the web site but I do regularly watch F1 on ITV and overall the coverage and commentary is excellent, except for TEAM RADIO. It always interrupts in the middle of commentary and yet again during yesterdays Race during informative commentary regarding Lewis Hamilton's pending plenty. Does anyone else dislike TR interruptions or is it just Me?

Sebastien Bourdais has been handed a 25-second penalty for his clash with Felipe Massa in the Japanese Grand Prix. The ruling drops the Frenchman from sixth to 10th in the final classification and promotes Felipe Massa from eighth to seventh. I happen to think Martin Brundell has done a pretty good job, (especially his pre race, on grid interviews, sometimes very entertaining)

Anyone like to see Murray come outta retirement?

Or do you think any other former F1 drivers would add to the enjoyment?

Why was only a fine handed out to ferrari by race stewards, and only after the race. When the same stewards gave a instant drive through penalty in the GP2 race for the same dangerous pit release?

I do think ferrari is always givin the benfit of the doubt

I cannot beleive what i saw during todays grand prix. three times Massa broke the rules. Ok he was punished once. The second offence the punishment was given to Bourdais, Massa was clearly at fault. and the third, he was clearly over the white lines defining the track, when passing Webber, on the Chvrons, not only was this illegal, it was also very very dangerous. I cant beleive it.

Obviously an attempt to, again, give points to Massa by the FIA to close the gap to Hamilton.

Am i the only one who thinks this?

Anyone else noticed?

When you have done with the main ITV-F1 website you can't go to another site? you have to close the window or tab and open another one. This doesn't happen to me with any other site I visit so I know it's not a problem at my end.

I wonder why?

FIA trying to take over all aspects of F1

I have a petrol head for about 58 years and especially a F1 fan but now I am getting disallusioned by the way the FIA is using penalties to control the sport. With motor racing, racing incidents happen and there is no need to bring about so many enquiries and therefore penalties. As the ITV team said during the Japanese GP the teams were so afraid to get penalised they were going out of their way to avoid them. Also all these new regulations on the cards are going to prevent new ideas being brought into the sport and then into motoring in general. I feel that things are going to get so bad as to bring F1 down to A1 form. If this control continues I and my friends that are followers of F1 will switch off and leave the sport completely.
