Hi,

Being South African I can tell you of a few places to visit in South Africa.

A wonderful, family friendly african safari place to visit would be the Pilansburg Game Reserve. It is outside Johannesburg going towards Hartbeesport Dam and Sun City. Also there are lovely places to stay at Hartbeesport Dam and Sun City is a fun week-end for the family and as a couple to go out in an evening and have some fun gambling and to see a show.

Cape Town is fantastic!!! It is a must if you visit South Africa. There are fantastic wine farms, restaurants and lots of tousist attractions like going up Table Mountain.

The Kruger National Park in Mapumalanga is good too but you may be dissapointed because there are time when you drive around and do not see anything. If you go on a game ride then you will get to see more animals.

South Africa is the most beautiful place but you do have to be careful where you go and you should be aware of the crime in S.A. you should not go walking alone in places you do not know.

Im exactly the same! Doing my GCSE's and everything, i'd love to live out there too! My gosh this is quite scary we r very similar haha.

'Wild at Heart' is filmed at Glen Africa (http://www.glenafric.co.za/) which is a game lodge about an hour outisde of Johannesburg. Although a lot of the program is a bit far fetched, particularly about how tame the animals are and how they are always so easily seen in the wild, it does make me miss home now that I live in the UK. I still get back at least once a year though so not too bad.

PS: I still have a South African accent so should try it out on some of the ladies over here :-)

i would love to know the location were wild at is filmed i love the program and would love to visit the set it would be a dream come true to be in Africa i think is looks like an amazing country and would love the experiance it looks so beautiful on the tv thanks for taking the time to read my reply lisa.

the closest ive ever been was tunisia but id love to go stay somewhere like leopards den is in the show, its just a matter of convincing the family to come, theyre not realy animal people like me.

It's my absoloute DREAM to go to South Africa! I would really love to see the place and go on safari there. I can't right now cos of my GCSE's coming up and college, and all sorts of things going on!lol Plus it's probably really expensive. But I plan to go and live in Africa when I'm older and when I've got some qualifications(and also having some money might help, haha!). Cos I want to be a veterinary nurse,but I also want to study conservation and wildlife management(I think that's what the course is called lol). Then It's off to Africa! lol

i went to s africa 2 1/2 years ago was an AMAZING experience,

we went to addo elephant park - u go round in your own cars and can hire a guide to come with u bt its rather touristy.

schotia is nearby (we went at night and had dinner in the bush :D) -its smaller quieter and they take u on a guided tour like they do in WAH so you'd probs prefer that

Hey, do you know of any game reserves in South Africs that are like the one in Wild at Heart? I mean small scale family run ones, not huge, heaving tourist locations. I would love to go to one for a real African experience that is more personal. Any help appreciated. Also, where is Wild at Heart filmed? cheers x x x x

Hi, just been watching Wild at Heart, filmed in South Africa, but whereabouts? We were in that beautiful country last Oct/Nov and it exceeded our expectations, going from Cape Town up to the Kruger and on to Jo'Burg.

I think the series is terrific and just right for a Sunday evening family entertainment.
