For all Dougie/Nick fans - new drama Collision at last!

We now have an official start date of 9th November, after a long time of waiting! Collision airs over five nights (9pm) - more details available via ITV drama website.

Great chance to see Dougie back on our screens again, after Nick's untimely death last April...... personally, still in mourning........ ! Should be good, as any drama benefits from a class actor like DH being a central part of it.

Did any one notice how little real fans there are for Primeval?

When I first saw the series on our TV channels I started to hunt on the net to find 'other' fans of this series but found not much - when asking about it on other SF forums or groups they 'made jokes' about it - as the real SF fans (those who love all the other SF & fantasy series on TV) never really got into it and putted it on the list of good SF ----

But now I have come to understand this 'problem' - most fans who are into series are fans of characters! And that is the weakest link in Primeval - most characters get killed along the way - so fans can't get into it as there is only the special effects and the kicks of the kills - so they don't bother. I guess most viewers on watch it in order to see if this weeks special effect are going to be so great and flashy as the one before and hopefully better than last week and/or watch because they like the kick of the kill! Once that is over they zap ot a different channel and see what is going on there ---

That is the reason Star Trek never killed main characters - they once did kill Spock but got him back rather soon than latter when they discovered what kind of disaster it had caused - and that is the reason why Star Trek keeps going --- in the 1990s they worked on a new series and the fans offered the idea of a series about Capt. Kirck and Spock being young --- they ignored it - made a complete new series and it flopped --- Star Trek was death! After 30 yeras!!!! Now a few years back they started to work on a revival of Star Trek - and guess what? YES they did take up the idea of the fans - making a moviie set in the time all the characters where young and just starting out of school. And guess what? Yes the movie revived the whole idea about Star Trek --- and just check the press, forums etc. they all talked about one thing --- the characters NOT how good the special effects would be not how big the bangs where going to be --- just what would it be to meet the young Mr. Spock and young Capt Kirck ---- it were the characters that make the fans rally around the movie and giving it a new change to go on for the next 30 years ---

So my question is WHY don't the guys who make Primeval take care to create a loyal fan following that keeps the series alive and interested? Why do they not care for the characters they themselve created? Are they really only interested in making huge horrible looking monster moving around - killing characters fans carea about as that would hopefully give some headlines and some free promotion in the press for the series?

Well I no longer really care that much for this series - they killed off Capt. Ryan and refuse to recognise the huge response of the fans ---- so if he isn't coming back and they keep changing / killing characters the next series will no longer interest me at all --- only regret there is so little on the net of fanhood as than I would be able to find more on fan fiction on the characters of series one ---- so I am left with my DVD of series one and that will have to do I guess!

Its just too soon to lose Nick - and a very unsatisfactory way of doing it, somehow.

Maybe this is leaving a way back in for another series...... so many things left unresolved, after all.......

Series 4 - Please bring back some old characters!

I am so excited for Series 4 even though it seems like such a long time to wait! But I hope it will be worth the wait! Series 1 & 2 were awesome, Series 3 was ok. I hope they bring back Stephen, Nick, Claudia and Helen. I just can't get used to not having them around. I don't know how but hopefully someone will come back. Also, will be interesting to see how everything all ties together.

about series 4, can someone tell me....

Apparently series three was supposed to be longer but it got canceled because of money problems, does anyone know what will happen to those episodes, did they ever get made? will they be part of series 4 or will they just get missed out? I know these are edited so please tell us :)

p.s when you are watching series 4 turn all the tvs in your house on even tho your only watching one so we can get more views and it wont get canceled again

I just found an article on IMDB that Juliet Aubrey wants to return as her role as Helen Cutter.

I wonder how they'll pull that off, since we know that Hellen died at the end of season 3. Juliet Aubrey apparently enjoyed her role so much, she wants to play Hellen again in future seasons of Primeval.

How would you bring Stephen back if you could, to make it seem believable also?

I don't think Helen could pull him from a past anomaly because that would change too many things in the future. All the times Stephen had saved the group, no one would be around anymore.

I suppose she could clone him like she did The Cleaner. Would he remember who he is?

Or, if she could find a way to have an anomaly open up right before he gets attacked in the room where he dies, maybe Helen's crew could save him. I think Nick turned away before Stephen was attacked. Of course doing it this way, Helen wouldn't have her way still because I doubt Stephen would want to team up with her again.

But, she's tired of being alone and needs someone to help her get the creatures, so she would probably mess with Stephen's memory if she did save him.

Good news for James Murray/Stephen Hart fans!

James' partner, Sarah Parrish, is expecting again - baby due early 2010!

Great news, after losing their eight month old daughter so tragically earlier in the year - wish them both the best of luck, and I'm sure all other Primeval fans will also.

Be great to see James make a reappearance in S4 or S5....... who knows........ ?

Jason Flemying in S4?

Just wondered how people feel about Jason coming back in S4 (and possibly S5) after he made it pretty clear that he didn't take his role in the show remotely seriously?

Personally, I didn't think Danny was the right character to replace Nick - no scientific expertise, far too "act first, think later", not a role model/father figure to the younger members of the team. What happened to the idea of not killing any creature unless entirely necessary, and returning as many as possible to their own era? Seemed to be pretty much forgotten as S3 progressed.

Assuming we do get Danny back, I'd like to see the character develop a lot more depth, and (assuming we can't have any missing members of the original team back!) maybe see the introduction of another male character with some scientific expertise and some sex-appeal to be some kind of foil - with no Nick and no Stephen, there must be room, surely...... ?!

So just for fun - if you had to chose who to have in the main team as a team of 5 who would you chose and why? You can chose any of the characters, major or not they just have to have been in the show even if it is for one episode but only chose 5 of them.

Mine is kinda predictable but it would be....

Nick Cutter - he is the brains,has knowledge of the creatures and he is the improviser - also he cares greatly for his team and the creatures, he also fathers the team as such.

Connor - He has the technical brains for team and him along with Cutter make a great team. His is also brave when he needs to be and has a great knowledge of the creatures.

Jenny - She controls Cutter to some extent and keeps everyone on the ground and also has the ability to handle the public well and use them to her advantage. She is also almost the mother to the team.

Abby - She knows how to handle each creature and this comes in useful - also she is a great fighter and can hold her own in a battle with bravery and cares greatly for everyone else.

Ryan - i would chose him over Becker as he seemed more forceful when it came to protecting the team and wouldn't just let the run into trouble but would actualy stand his ground to stop them. He also was respectful to the creatures and the team.

Stephen shouldn't have died in the first place.

His death was heroic, but the team should should have at least showed more sympathy!!!!!!

It showed that he would have done anything to save the team and to make sure that they were safe. But killing him was just too far!!!!!!!!

If Stephen comes back in series 4 + 5 more people will be happy, A LOT MORE PEOPLE!!!!!!

stephen wanted to tell the world and cutter would not let him. is that why he killed himself or was it because he believed cutter would not forgive him for going with helen and not telling him.
