    if it weren't for the environmentalists, this would've been a good time to pressure the government into reducing tax on petrol, £1.20 is just too much to pay for a littre of petrol.

    I dont think you've been watching or reading the news, the credit crunch was created by banks, their wreckless lending practices led to a huge number of defaults mainly in america, which led to low confidence, subsequently banks run out of money as they nolonger lent to one another.
