• Re: another cannabis topic on the news

If you work with people in the older age group who have used cannabis regularly from an early age you can see the long term affects with a few people and if we can save only one of them from the schizophrenic type symptoms, I think its a blessing. It is horrendous seeing someone made ill by this drug as it is seeing others who use other ...

  • Re: baby maisie....

I agree so much with your comments. The thing that shocks me is that if it was a 15yr old male and a 13 yr old female I am sure it would be investigated by the proper authorities but as the older child was a female and the youngest a male it seems to be minimised. Its the old perception that males cannot be abused - the conception that ...

  • Re: Dementia

You are so right. If I could do this i would but what I found when I took my mum on holiday a few months ago was that her dementia gave her a 'clock' all of her own and I was up all hours of the day and night caring for her. She has also developed severe incontinence and followed me everywhere whenever I stood up. It became so ...

  • Re: Dementia

Thank you so much for your advice and other people's advice and encouragement. I too have supplied lots of clothing for my mum, labelled etc. but often find her in other people's things as though the staff have got hold of the first clothes that come to hand and put them on mum. Maybe further training and support for staff caring for people ...

  • Dementia

Sometimes dementia is the subject of joking. Maybe this is born out of fear that any one of us may become victims of this horrendous illness, I don't know, but one thing is clear to me, after almost breaking down trying to care for my mum with dementia, hearing John Suchet speak about his own personal experience can only help those of us ...

  • Re: What would you ban??

Eating!!!!! Well, I think that's what they want, don't they, its the roofs over our heads first and then eating. Must be cos I can't think how they think most people will manage to carry on.

  • Re: financial debt due a few months of unemployment

Do you know, I am so sympathetic to working people who have borrowed and got into difficulties due to various reasons, it's not only loss of jobs I and my husband have worked all of our lives and I was suddenly widowed and I am sure there are many other reasons. What gets me really angry is that good people who borrowed when they were able ...

  • Re: everything comes to those who wait

Hi, I think we need such quotes for times when things are tough or if we are just fed up. It raises a bit of hope. But what really happens is that life goes on, you can wait or not but you have to make your own chances in life and try to catch what good things comes your way when you recognise them. Life is a one off ...
