• Re: Red lights in the sky

I saw more red lights this evening. The ones I saw last time were orange these ones were red. I am not sure what direction they were in because I was in a car. They seemed to be the same pattern but red instead of orance. I dont know if they are anything Paranormal however at around the same time I had the ...

  • Re: local news thats not local

gerry60:Yey i agree, here in Bristol we now get Cornwall and Plymouth news, ITV had a good website with live webcams from all around the country, sadly these have now gone. With ITV local it was closed down not only because free websites lose a lot of money but because the competition comission said local news papers claimed that it ...

  • Re: TESCO again try to ruin more small businesses

Tesco are not the ones ruining small businesses, the public are. People have the choice of shopping in a local shop or in a supermarket. There are over 3500 tesco stores. Many Tesco stores are open to the public 24 hours (although not on Sundays) so you can go in there at any time, they sell many more items than a ...

  • Re: Red lights in the sky

I saw a group of red lights in the sky this evening towards the north. They seemed to be stationary. I think they could be those chinese lanterns as previously mentioned on this forum.

  • Re: should we back royal mail in strikeing?

rosiet2008: It seems as though not everyone as lucky as you though. Like I say, our nearest private mail company is 26 miles away. There is not another one any nearer. So that means some people could be travelling up to 4 hrs a day to get to and from work if they get another job (all supposing they DO get another job) at ...

  • Re: should we back royal mail in strikeing?

rosiet2008: Yes there will always be a need for parcel post even if fewer letters are posted. Re local job. Depends what you call local - our nearest private mail company is 26 miles away. Given the state of the roads at rush hour it'll probably only take 2 hrs max to get there (2 hrs there and back - only an extra 4 hrs ...

  • Re: should we back royal mail in strikeing?

rosiet2008: I doubt there will be more customers simply because the system improves - people are moving away from real mail to email. As for finding work in another mail company, other mail companies don't necessarily have local branches which would mean travelling further afield which might not be affordable (this is a postal workers' ...

  • Re: should we back royal mail in strikeing?

rosiet2008: Doubble M: No, they could keep the same amount of people but you would not need tens of people watching machines sorting letters. However the people who used to sort letters will not nessacerilly get sacked, they can be the people who deliver the letters. And what happens to the people who already deliver the letters? ...

  • Re: Freeview reception

weeno:I rescanned on 30th September, no probs, then did a routine scan last week and about 80% of my channels disappeared including all ITV channels, Channel 4 and (ironically) Ch 5. All I have left is BBC, a few others (Parliament, etc!) and radio. We receive from Crystal Palace. I am not happy! I also receive from the Crystal ...

  • Re: should we back royal mail in strikeing?

rosiet2008:In other words it's as much about getting rid of people as about modernisation. No, they could keep the same amount of people but you would not need tens of people watching machines sorting letters. However the people who used to sort letters will not nessacerilly get sacked, they can be the people who deliver the letters In ...
