• Re: Just heard on the news :(

I know somebody who sustained an amazingly similar injury to Felipe's - although in slightly different circumstances. There was no injury to his eye but the damage to the skull and eye socket actually altered the position and orientation of the eye, severly impairing his vision. As you can imagine, this made moving around ...

  • Re: Will Spanker Ban the BrawnGPs?

RaggedEdge: When an aircraft failure occurs - the fleet is grounded until a thorough check is carried out to ensure the failure will not be repeated... Not entirely true, otherwise every A330 would have been grounded two months ago - and every B777 last year. Sometimes they are grounded, sometimes not. It depends on the specific ...

  • Re: BRDC and Hill need to GO

aveli666: armed with just your eyes and ears you will not be well informed. For goodness sake aveli, I've been watching motor racing including Grand Prix at Silverstone in this way for many years. It is much, much more gripping than watching the TV feed - even this year's race. I suspect that the Kangaroo ...

  • Re: BRDC and Hill need to GO

aveli666: if that's what you want, i would recommend club corner as you see the cars for a much longer time and a good chance of some drama too. during practice and qualifying sessions you will have no idea what the order is and what is the point of that? during the race, you will lose track of who is in what position after the first stint as ...

  • Re: BRDC and Hill need to GO

aveli666: nothing wrong with them at all, just that they provide a service which should be provided by the organisers of the event. can you think of a live event apart from f1 at siverstone and some european circuits where you attend and not know what is going on? why should you pay entry fee and then pay again to receive information about the ...

  • Re: BRDC and Hill need to GO

aveli666: it wasn't until i went to monaco in 2008 that i realised the difference. the entrance ticket was so much cheaper at monaco and for that you get huge tv screens with exceptional quality pictures, i could see the white in the drivers eyes. the pa system was excellent, albeit the commentary was in 3 languages, it was very informative and i ...

  • Re: Which One, Jean, Or Ari ?.

cormac_c: I really hope it's Ari Vatanen who gets the job. He seems more likeable and respected, plus if Jean Todt was the president, everytime Ferrari would win there'd be endless conspiracy theories on how he's biased towards them and helping them cheat. That's the single most important point, isn't it - he was just too close to ...

  • Re: Overall: Max Mosely, Good or Bad for F1?

In short, his problem is that he has been in power for too long and any good that he has done has been obscured by his recent outbursts, political manouvering and childish score settling. He will always be a controversial figure but if he wanted his Presidency to be viewed favourably on balance, he should have quit some time ago...

  • Re: why is the fia considering adding bio fuel to f1 fuel?

aveli666: what comes from naphtha zakespeed? have you heard of catalytic cracking of long chain hydrocarbons? this results in shorter chain hydrocarbons which are used in making plastics alcohols, esters, carboxylic acids, amines amides, and thousands of other organic chemicals. and yes naphtha is a feedstock for the manufacture of ...
