To anyone who is interested, possibily surijo, I have found out what I was looking for. The bgt show I was asking about was the pilot show. The show was not taken up at the time, and appeared about a year later with its format changed, owing I believe, to the American influence.

Thanks Surijo, but stars in their eyes was about contestants impersonating stars. The show that I am thinking of was about contestants showing their special skills. Surely someone out there knows what I am on about.

I need help please. Before BGT was shown in it present format, was there a series of weekly shows, whereby the acts were shown without the ''silly bits'', and the winner was voted for by the audience ( I think )? The winner each week got £ 10,000. I think the first winner was a young girl with a blue merle collie doing a ''dance'' routine.I am ...

The sad plight of all the broken hearted wannabees, coupled with my admiration for someone who was Truly talented, (Louis ''Satchmo'' Armstrong) not just ambitious, like many of the BGT contestants, inspired me to pen the following limerick.

At least with a 'dramatic' singer deaf people can see the actions and ascertain the emotions.
Let's give it up for diversity, and I can't wait to hear their new CD or a production on radio.
Sorry to seem old fashioned, but, at least the Black and White ...

I dont think that the judges should be able to buzz in the semi finals.... How can you vote on something you havn't had the chance to hear.. Simon is always saying it's up to the public.. I DONT THINK SO. He took his buzz back before, you cant do that in the semi finals.

1000's of people auditioned for BGT yet these 2 judges have put through some absolute dross of no talent whatsoever and alarmingly have appeared in the semi-finals. They should not be allowed to judge ever again. Piers just disagrees with everything Simon says and is a complete idiot who wouldn't know talent if it hit him with a ...
