To anyone who is interested, possibily surijo, I have found out what I was looking for. The bgt show I was asking about was the pilot show. The show was not taken up at the time, and appeared about a year later with its format changed, owing I believe, to the American influence.

Thanks Surijo, but stars in their eyes was about contestants impersonating stars. The show that I am thinking of was about contestants showing their special skills. Surely someone out there knows what I am on about.

Before BGT was shown in it present format, was there a series of weekly shows, whereby the acts were shown without the ''silly bits'', and the winner was voted for by the audience ( I think )? I saw the episode and I think it was him. The guys name is Demetrios Andreas and the act with his son is called Stavros Flatley. The guy next to him has a logo on his top that looks like his company logo
