Why is Stuart Barnes commentating on Welsh and Scottish games?  He is just so negative and critical of his former opponents - I don't want to hear an Englishman constantly talking down Scotland and Wales.  Please ITV, provide Welsh and Scottish commentary to their respective games.  Barnes' commentary of Wales vs Australia was a disgrace and the Scottish game today is not much better - pompous and seemingly hoping to see an Australian and New Zealand win.  I'm sure I represent many other Welsh and Scottish viewers.

I have watched televised rugby in my club in Swansea for many a long year, have heard commentators abused, translated S4C Welsh language commentary where no Welsh is spoken, but the reaction to Stuart Barnes is extreme. He is hated for his bias, his voice, style, cliched commentary and laughable interpretations. This is the first occassion when the club have voted to turn the sound down completely.

I hwar the head of sport has claimed Barnes to be among the best in the world. Well come to see rael rugby followers and see that your hold on the RWC is being destroyed by this man. 

When will ITV stop putting Stuart Barnes on as a commentator. Every time I hear his voice of unbiased wisdom I cringe.

Stuart Barnes is best avoided by turning the volume to mute and listening to the excellent Radio 5 Live coverage, which is unbiased despite the commentators coming from all nationalities!

I have to say, as an Enland supporter, I agree with polcanto.

However, while I agree that Stuart Barnes is negative and critical, I have to say that it is not just about Wales and Scotland. He appears exceptionally bitter that he never really made it as a top rugby player and hence takes great delight at constantly putting down the England players. If only we had someone as good as him today.......not!!!!!!!!!
