after watching your show on cults i was disappointed that you did not highlight the brittish side of cults there are many throughout great brittain my wifes family being caught in the middle of one through my wifes brother they are called the brethern based in doncaster and surounding areas

i  know though my brother in law that he had same hassles threats of all kinds even a form of kidnapping his wife distancing her from him hiding her away till he went looking for her taking her back from them

she was not allowed on thier property even look at them in the streets even speak to her mother and father and brothers and sisters  they married and had twin daughters and they grandparents were not even allowed to see or speak to them my brother in law and his wife went on to have another child a son again things stood as they did before NO CONTACT with her family

sadly my brother in law was told he had terminal cancer and didnt have long to live in fact a month during this month they decided to join back in this cult to protect her and the children so she would have someone to support her my mother in law (now deceased) went down but was not allowed to stay in the same house as her son and had to go else were to stay cut a long story short he died on the 11may that year and on the day of the funeral she was ORDERED by the brethern cult to stay well back from the grave side she was told at least 150 yards back we all were this was the most heart  breaking thing that i had ever witnessed and she did with her head held high she died 2 years later heart broken  we still have to call and make appointments if we would like to see our neices and nephew and if they agree then someone attends with them thier mother and an observer

i personaly feel the brittish public should know of these cults and be aware of the dangers that lie within them

Dear Coolrunnin, You are correct. There are a number of cults opering in the UK who are causing absolute heartache to individuals and families. I am so sorry to hear about your experience with the Brethern. There are also a number of organisations in the UK who provide information and advice on these matters such as the Cult Information Centre and Catalyst.

 

Dear Jeremy, Thank you for the show and for informing people that the  Jesus Christians are very active in the UK and have received negative press coverage here. The Jesus Christians give out tracts and literature on the street, in exchange for a small donation. They have also been known to infiltrate other religious organisations or churches. They are a small organisation, with a membership of approximately 30. It is a small group but one which has seems to have affected and devastated a number of families here and elsewhere throughout the world.
