    SUNDAY NIGHT CORRIE

Is the move of Sunday night Corrie to a double bill on Friday a permanent one? I hope not. Nothing could upset me more than when I turned on the telly at 7.30 last week only to find dancing on ice on instead of Coronation Street. I could not believe it. This is a completely ridiculous change by ITV. How is anyone supposed to relax on a Sunday evening without a dose of Corrie to prepare them for the week. I hope they change it back asap.

Yes its permanent!! and not only that the Sunday Omnibus has now gone too as well as the repeat in the mornings. I wrote to ITV1 tonight regarding this and think anyone else who dislikes this rescheduling should do the same, we are the viewers after all: see letter below:

    Dear Sir/Madam

I simply do not understand with your new scheduling why you have an Emmerdale Omnibus shown three times over the weekend and only one Coronation Street  now moved to Saturday afternoons on ITV1.
In addition to this I see you have cut the showing at 9.25am, fellow nightshift workers like myself would watch this when we got home from work in that time of unwinding before getting some sleep but with the midday scheduling this is now impossible. As we also work a week on and a week off from Saturday to Saturday- the rescheduling of only one Omnibus is also impossible to watch. I realise of course that the programmes are available online but it isn't the same as watching it on the actual television.
I am most disappointed to see that ITV has seen fit to do this and has replaced the morning slot with some American garbage instead- not only that Emmerdale has also been axed from this slot.

WHAT! I don't know what it's like in the UK but Friday's are a ratings killer, it's the fun night, everyone is out, Sunday gets massive ratings. Moving coro from sun to fri could make it seem like ratings are going down :S

    Re: SUNDAY NIGHT CORRIE

I really miss the Sunday episode of Corrie and find the double episode on a Friday too much. I really wish they would drop the 8.30pm Friday ep and move it to Sundays again.

However it doesnt look very hopeful - by the looks of it they have replaced Dancing on Ice with films from 6.30pm-8.00pm before the 8pm drama Heartbeat.

    Re: SUNDAY NIGHT CORRIE

I not only want Corrie back on Sunday night but Emmerdale too. I really do not understand why they removed the Sunday soaps time slots. Dancing on Ice should also revert back to Saturday when that returns. The weekend tv is utter rubbish at the moment. I know quite a lot of people who think like me and wish they were back on weekends. I think the Friday double bill of Corrie is a total mistake too. I just hope they take notice of the comments of these pages before they "plan" their schedules.
