    Content of Alan Titchmarsh

Yet another programme whose purpose is to promote the latest project of its celebrity 'guests'.

Not only that but the show is obviously on also to promote Alan's very obvious love of anything remotely smutty, please get rid of the nasty smuttiness of the show ITV,starting with so called 'sexpert' Julie Peasegood, she should be on a late night (very late) show if she wants to talk about that, do you not realise that young children could be watching at that time of day?

I also find the constant tory party political broadcasting on the show disgaceful, there is no balanced view and guests like gaunt, malone and ferrari make me so angry i switch off.

I'm not prude but I do agree with you here especially considering the timing of the show.  I also think some of the comments on Loose Women are unsuitable for daytime telly....too much innuendo and 'phwoar' type comments imo.

    Re: Content of Alan Titchmarsh

Neither am I, the content of the show I was talking about would be fine in a late night slot, I'd have absolutely no problem watching it then, but it's not suitable for daytime viewing at all as long as the 'sexpert' stays.  I agree with you about Loose Women too, especially Denise Welch's occasional desire to flash herself (show her assets) in full view of the audience, guests & viewers, who does she think she is?!

What a pity Alan Titchmarsh does not research the background of his guests. John Bishop wanted a surprise for his wife who nursed her mother with cancer. The surprise that he gave his mother-in-law after she helped nurse his late wife with cancer was to get her thrown out of her home. Then he went on to say that he wished that he had never married his wife had he known that she was going to get cancer. He also threw out of his own house his own eldest daughter. That man does not deserve anything. I am not allowed to swear on here, but you will know what I think of him.

    Re: Content of Alan Titchmarsh

I love the show but I do wish Alan did not have so many guests.  last week I timed them and the average time allocated to each guest was approximately 4 to 5 minutes.  It was hardly worth some of them turning up.  So often the guest is in mid flow and is cut off in their prime.  It would be so much nicer to hear a bit more from them - say approx. 8 - 10 mins.  When I watch other hourly programmes - ie. Paul O'Grady, Loose Women etc., their average number is 3 guests and they are made to feel it is worth their sitting down.  Alan, one day had 8 guests.   Far too many for an hour's programme.  Just a thought!!!!

    Re: Content of Alan Titchmarsh

I remember a few weeks ago, Alan was a guest on another show (can't remember which one at the moment) when he was asked about the content of his show, to which he replied along the lines of 'it's ok because the kids are still at school at that time' WRONG Mr Tichmarsh! What about the kids who are off sick, and who aren't old enough to go to school yet, & those that aren't in nursery school, you'd be amazed at the age that kids pick things up, the smutt has to stop.

All you have to do is change channels or switch off! We all have a choice!

    Re: Content of Alan Titchmarsh

As well as stopping the ***, perhaps the producers should also think carefully about what values they're allowing certain guests to instill in any younger viewers. I'm thinking in particular of Nick Ferrari's comments today about those with mental health problems. Or perhaps his unhealthy obsession with glugging alcohol whenever there's an item on that.

    Re: Content of Alan Titchmarsh

I couldn't agree more, the way Nick Ferrari glugs booze & the way he looks too (very overweight) means he's a perfect candidate for a heart attack and/or stroke, not a good example to set for young viewers, & I'm not just talking about children now.

This is a bit late from the original message but I totally agree.  I'm afaid I have to turn off when Julie Peasgood comes on and quite often I don't return to the programme.
