At Last, Hamilton Is Chasing The WDC...
No question, todays race was not Hamilton's finest hour.
He seemed to have a bland start and ended up near a frustrated Alonso, with the enivitable collision. Hamilton should have known that Alonso was going to play dirty and waited for a better chance.
The good news is, for the very first time, in a long time, LH will be forced to drive hard and chase WDC - he cannot play it safe any longer.
More fireworks and less of these silly starts and collisions with Alonso though... the race was a termendously boring one, after that. Even Kimi could do nothing about MS's old sidekick...

Of course if Lewis is unable to pass cars even with his "superiour car control" maybe the FIA can get the crane out and lift him over the cars in front. Or maybe when he can't get pasted the car infront he can stick his finger up at the guy in front like he did with Fisi.

Oh of course; it's a good thing that Hamilton failed to push the accelerator and crashed into the back of someone whilst under negligable pressure when he did find the right pedal!
Ragged Edge Logic - Logic that says even if you do **** up real bad and make yourself look like an amateur, you've still done a bang up job and everyone else is to blame.

The race today was interesting, if not exciting. Hamilton bogged down at the start but was then starting to pick himself back up until the Alonso incident, as soon as he was behind Alonso i knew that Hamilton's race was compromised, we know their history so a clean pass was always going to be near impossible.
The BMW's pace pleasantly surprised me today, this is a worry for both Ferrari and McLaren. When Kubica got his pole i thought it was just a case of him running much lighter and he would drop back in the race after an early pit stop. This was not the case as we know and was genuine pace. Looking forward to the next race to see how it unfolds.

Lol, I like the title of this thread, it's indicative of how Hamilton is going to spend the entire season imo, frustrated by his anate inability to control the car on Friday, frustrated again at having made a rookie start,(or, as he described his intentions pre-race, "another of those miracle starts") and yet more frustration at not being able to drive behind someone without hitting them.
The gestures were just a sign of how frustrated he was becoming, fighting another driver for position, and still thinking he has the god given right to pass, he lets these little gems slip out now and again.
I think if the season was forty races long, Hamilton would spend it chasing the lead, with him proving yet again he can't win unless he's on pole he'd better get used to seeing cars in front, his team mate finished ahead of him for the second race in succession, if it happens again i'll expect to see Hamiltons toys being ejected from the McLaren faster than a red arrows pilot in trouble

No one is denying Lewis had a bad weekend and made some bad calls today, but what would worry me more is that Kimi's car control was so far behind Massa's - just proves MS is still in a class all his own...

What?
I'm not making any excuses for LH - it was a bad performance this weekend.
We really need to see if this is a blip or a sign of things to come... I hope for the former, because F1 would become extremely dull if no one is able to pull out MS type drives occassionally...
As for Kimi, he's been very seriously exposed as the slower of the two Ferrari drivers by a large margin - that's going to through their battle wide open...

Please let's not turn another thread into "mine is better than yours". Let's talk about the sport we love and not into yet another slanging match. It's getting tiresome.

RE What is your problem? This thread has nothing to do with MS (you should know - you created it), you almost make me ashamed to admit that I am a huge fan of his, just because of the association. Kimi is deserving of his position in the WDC as well as being the current WDC. BTW MS rates Massa so that surely questions your logic.
Please just accept the fact that LH is not the next MS. He makes mistakes like ALL drivers and today he made at least two for which he has been man enough to accept. I doubt this will increase his racing as IMO this is what caused his mistakes today.

Re: At Last, Hamilton Is Chasing The WDC...
I seem to remeber that DC was made to publically apologise by McLaren a few years back after a similar gesture at Magny Cours.
I wonder if LH will be asked to do the same

Well.. now we know how much has to happen before you say something like that :). This was great race for Massa congratulations to that direction. Bahrain has been very difficult track for Räikkönen..this was his best ever result on this track.

Actually the lap times were very simalar between the two. Kimi was faster at some points as was Massa. Massa has always been strong round here while Kimi has always struggled, plus Kimi's car wasn't as stable in the high winds as Massa's was, probably down to the setup of his car.
But going by your logic. 1 WDC to Kimi - 0 WDC to Massa. 3 race finishes (because he got a point in Aus) to Kimi - 1 race finish tp Massa. Yes i can see how Massa is beating Kimi.....

And it's not possible that Massa would be better than he were before? Please remember that Bahrain was one of the only races in early 2006 where Massa fared very well against Michael..

Re: At Last, Hamilton Is Chasing The WDC...
I love that RE calls Hamiltons start 'bland'. It was one of the worst starts i've ever seen in F1. And Lewis didn't just make the obscene gestures towards Fisi. ITV were probably in the middle of an add break but you could see Lewis Giving the finger to almost every driver he passed.....admittedly that wasn't very many, but the point stands. We are seeing the inevitable cracks in Lewis' fragile skill set. Kiumi drove a great race on a weekend where he was on the back foot. Well done to him and Massa.
