    Madelaine;One year on

Being a mother and after watching both Gerry and Kate,my heart goes out to them both!Iwas deeply touched by their documentary, such a difficult thing for any parent to endure and one that no parent wants to!We all have to keep praying for her safe return, and also for the government to actually do something for once, and put into force The Amber Alert!,a small price to pay to retrieve a child back to where they belong!Iwould imagine if it was achild belonging to a high profile family it would have been instigated before now!Every family in every country should have this right no matter the cost!forever in my prayers, deborah xx

Our Government already has a system in place very similar to Amber Alert.  The authorities can very quickly get information to Air and Sea Ports, CCTV operators, news and radio stations - which is essentially what Amber Alert is.  Why should they spend money on Amber Alert when we already have an excellent system in place.

Amber Alert in the US has been criticised because in some cases the abductor panics when he hears the Amber Alert and disposes of the child in the most terrible way.  It's not a solve all for abduction cases and it won't do anything to get Maddie back, it's only useful in the few hours immediately after the abduction takes place.

A far better way of ensuring children are safe is to ensure they are properly supervised at all times that way you won't have to rely on any system to get your children back safely.

Still hoping for good news one day. Just wanted to say that hubby and I took our 4 year old grandchild out of the country on holiday this year. We were amazed that no-one questioned us about a little boy with a different surname to us, until we re-entered the country at Birmingham airport. Fortunately we were able to show them written permission from his parents, but it wasn't checked out and could easily have been a forgery. Our grandson is safe with his parents right now, but it proved to us that child security at airports needs to be improved, surely they should have questioned us on taking him OUT of the country. Saying prayers for Madeleine and all the missing children.

How do they carry on from day to day,I suppose the best thing is to try to forget about Madeleine, otherwise your imagination would drive you mad.

We must blame governments the world over, paedophiles, should,at the very least be chemically castrated, better still, the rope and lamp post solution.Children should come first.

I cannot even imagine being in the McCanns position and people that accused them should hang their heads in shame, yes they did wrong but they are more than paying for it.

Why on earth would we blame the goverment, they did not leave the children on there own, to go out for a meal, the Mcanns did, who in there right mind leaves 3 tiny children to fend for themselfs, disgusting for people in there position.

Oh for heaven's sake, she's never coming back. I feel for them too, but in their heart of hearts they know that too. Hopefully they will have learned from their mistake and won't leave their twins alone.
