    Aunty Pam

I hope and pray that they are not going to try and match make with Aunty Pam and Jack. No one no matter who they are will ever be able to take Vera's place.

I think they are making a very big mistake with Aunty Pam, we are seeing too much of her all of a sudden, not a good sign.

I like her.  Can't see her being matched up with Jack though - apparently he's leaving the street soon. Sad

    Re: Aunty Pam

No doubt the like will soon turn to dislike though.  Coronation Street writers at the moment seem intent on turning women characters into horrid ones.  Who's writing for the street these days? Plenty of well rounded male characters - when are we going to get something other than one dimensional females?

Jerry (and his clan) are leaving (apparently).

    Re: Aunty Pam

The turnover rate at the moment is beginning to resemble Eastenders.  Nicely get used to characters and they get shipped off whilst others you'd like to see the back of (no names mentioned but Liz springs to mind) hang around like a bad smell.

I dont mind Jerry's ex - she is better than Cilla as the nightmare mother type character IMO

    Re: Aunty Pam

Not sure about the "nightmare mother" bit.  After all, mollycoddling them, not blaming them whenever something goes wrong, and making excuses for them hasn't done Gail Platt much good has it?  And Ken & Deirdre don't seem to have sired a stable daughter either.

    Re: Aunty Pam

Seems to suggest nature is more important than nurture.

    Re: Aunty Pam

Good point - its more the way Cilla and Jerry's wife treat their kids. But yes Fizz, Chesney, Mel, Darryl all seem to have turned out OK overall compaired to David and Rosie!

    Re: Aunty Pam

And not forgetting Tracy.  I'd have thought if anyone would be good parents it would be Ken & Deirdre but just goes to show it isn't all about nurture.

    Re: Aunty Pam

btw spoiling them and letting them get away with murder (as per Gail Platt style) isn't necessarily any better than neglecting them.

    Re: Aunty Pam

I like pam, they dont have to set her up with Jack but theres nothing stopping them being mates, I think they make a good double act and its been good to see more of molly. Tyrones a bit dim but its nice to see at least one stable couple doing normal things.
