I was just wondering - does anybody know anywhere affordable where I can find wider fitting shoes that are in nice colours and younger styles? Looking in the shops I can only find the 'older' pointy toed or work styles.

You could try the Shoe Tailor, they have a good range of both older and younger styles in wide fittings up to EEE. They also specialise in wide fit boots with a choice of calf widths.

 If you just want to look at the trendier end, try Fashion World, the prices are pretty reasonable.

 They have great width fitting shoes, plenty of sizes and not old and drab which like you say makes a change.

They also do great calf fitting boots,
