Greedy Charities now bite the hands that fed them.

What are charties/councils doing with millions in the coffers of international banks; This money was given by the people to look after people, animals and the needy. This money was not given to store in unnamed banks at risk to open market forces. The director's of the charities were as greedy as the stock market yuppies that got us into this mess. They should be ashamed of themselves, greedy greedy greedy!!

I have just heard that  acats charity had 11 million in the iceland banks 11 million!!!! why was that money not used in the centres where it was needed? People will never again trust the banks/charities or councils to look after our money.

I am so angry at them GREED GREED not the NEEDY, all my charity giving has stopped, I will give money directly to the charities in foods parcels/,gifts and time.

What do you think happens to the money in between when it is collected and distributed? In the absence of a giant mattress t ostuff it into they have deposited it into a bank account which earns interest whilst it is allocated elsewhere.

I dont see the problem. It is obviously unfortunate that this Icelandic bank has gone to the wall but it could have happened to any bank.

sometimes we are all far too quick to judge without actually thinking it through.

Maybe the realisation that some Charities call out for donations saying they need vital funds for things because they haven't got it and yet there is a kitty somewhere in another Country, just makes people take a step back and question things.  Obviously an account is needed to 'store' the donations until they are used, but arn't we led to believe that on an annual or monthly basis there is not enough to fund this, that and the other?  Charities are beneficiaries of a fair few Wills and that is all Tax Free.  Some of them even send out leaflets to the elderly asking them to think of them in their Wills.

I have no problem giving to Charity, and I do on a regular basis but I would have greater comfort in knowing that it is going to be of use to those people in need of care etc., as stated when they ask for it with the prompting that they are struggling.

We all could do with being able to store up funds but some people giving to Charity go without themselves to help people they feel need help NOW as the information given by Charities suggests.
