I saw it and wasn't terribly impressed.  For instance no one saw fit to mention that Maya Plisetskaya who appeared several times talking with great authority about the ballet of the Mariinsky was a member of the Moscow Bolshoi company - not the Kirov/Mariinsky.  And why credit just the composer in the shots from the ballet - the choreographer is every bit as important if not more so.  But I notice that Ludwig  Minkus didn't rate a credit for the extract from the Kingdom of the Shades scene from La Bayadere - seems there was some kind of censorship here!

A suggestion to Lord Melvin Bragg if i may be as so bold? How about a South Bank Show on Jean-Michel Jarre or someone like that? i think it would make an interesting programme to see how Jean-Michel does things in daily life and in the studio and i am sure a lot of Jarre-fans would probably agree that he would be a great artist to do a 'South Bank Show' on as he appeals to so many different people.

 Also if i may suggest another subject that maybe could be done by the South Bank Show: Kraftwerk - as they are the biggest influence on modern day music ever and you could interview various groups and musicians, maybe even Wolfgang Flur or Karl Bartos (ex-kraftwerk members) about their time in the band and possibly even Ralf Hutter & Florian Schneider maybe? Would be a joy to see a South bank Show on Jarre or Kraftwerk as both have been influential in music over the years.
