Force India Forced to use the Force of anything other than India.

Can anyone one pease tell me what Force India is actually contributing to its own team? or do they just supply the catering in return for this recent McLaren-Mercedes deal. Maybe they will get Ron to head the team next. All I can say is Vijay must cook a fantastic curry!

But seriously, how bad is it to the reputation of India when a team has the audacity to call itslf "FORCE INDIA" yet out sources the whole setup.

Use the force Vijay and believe in your own countries engineering ability or loose the name. Its a joke otherwise if not a complete insult to your fellow countrymen.

LOL this did make me smile.

You slate them for turning to Mclaren Mercedes, where was your insulting comments last year when they tied to Ferrari all season, unless im mistaken Ferrari are not from India or have they moved. Force India are aslo based at Silverstone and have been from the start. So prey do tell where are your comments from last year.

Your right of course.. But I was not around last year to be able to comment... Its not really the fact that they out source that grates on me its the fact that they call the team FORCE INDIA yet our source everything.

Mybe its because the team owner is from India. Lets be honest do you think that everything that any of the teams use is from their Nationality,

     Don't really see your point!

Mercedes engine - German company - Engine made in England.

Renault - French company (French National anthem on Podium twice this year!) - Car built in England.

Many of the cars on the grid, regardless of where they are built or nationality of team, use Itlian Brembo brakes.

The team is in Indian ownership (just like British Steel) and uses the name to help promote India and the forthcoming Indian GP.

As the infrastructure for high tech. work improves in India I am sure we will see more input from that country.

Non so blind as though not wishing to see..

The point is clear. Renault dont have FORCE FRANCE plastered over the car and if they did but took majority components from Other nations its would becomes a joke..

yes and the chassis for red bull and str are made in england . i admit the name is a bit hypocritical but nearly every car on the grid has it's component parts made in a foreign country . and let's face it india is not axactly an engineering power house if vijay did have his car made in india i doubt they would even get through the practice sessions without a mechanical breakdown apart from that I don't see the problem in calling the team FORCE INDIA it's indian money that pays for it all .if I was vijay i would feel that after spending many millions of his own money he can call his team whatever he want's to

Surely no need for the bit I've underlined.

Renault do not need to call themselves "Force France".

They are a long standing company as French as good bread, cheese and wine.  They won the first ever GP in 1906.  Everyone knows they are French.

Force India is a symbol of a country that has developed and is now investing outside its shores.  A country that is going to be on the F1 map.  That is why it is called Force India.

We stand by and laugh at our peril.  I worked in the motor trade for twenty years and the UK industry laughed when the Japanese started selling cars here.  Look at them now!

Yeh.. not needed but a good quote though. Ttribalistic names are one thing but this takes the buscuit. Force India. Its a pathectic notion and an embaressing one. Maybe its me who has missed the point.. Maybe Force India is some kind of Indian Cola or something and has nothing to do with nationalism what soever.

But if its not an Indian cola or smilar product the concept of using a nations name on technology that by enlarge exists only at the end of rainbow for that nation is false patriotism. What's the real branding message we associate with Force India now.??? Wait till they win a race and immediatly you wil see what I mean.  "McLaren wins on behalf of Force India" They would have won nothing. Why dont they change the name to Captain Vijay or something. At least that way every time it loses we wouldnt associate India as loosers,
