A few more role models like Joe?  Where every other word begins with f, we're so easily led we change our opinions like the wind?

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

Joe as a role model with all his grouping and sexist remarks, not to mention the kissing.

Could end up with a few Court cases.

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

Well each to his own I suppose.  If you like people who's every other word is a swear word good look to you.  But a lad who's so obsessed with his own private parts he's constantly groping himself.  A lad who takes himself so seriously that he throws a hissy fit because there was "apparently" a plot to make him jealous (though what he had to be jealous of is anyone's guess),  A lad who gets irate just because he can't find a few ice lollies.   Having said that, despite his defence and then subsequent turn on DVD no-one in the camp had a bad word to say about him so he must have some sort of charm but I'm struggling to see what it is.  Cheeky chripy cockneys are alright in small doses but they don't half get on yer nerves after a while particularly when they get irate over the most petty things.

ps I don't want to sound cynical but that friendship he struck up with George has worked wonders - a place to stay rent free when in LA.  Of course he's going to stay in touch!  Smile

pps  Are the rumours about the reason he and his wife seperated true I wonder?

Aaaah rosiet2008. Another DVD fan bitter, very bitter, 'til the end.

"every other word a swear word"  not on the programme I was watching.

"constantly groping himself" not on the programme I was watching.

"gets irate because he can't find a few ice lollies". believe that's called wanting to do well for the team - rather than just himself (anyone spring to mind here rosiet ?)

    Good luck to the guy.

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

Na not bitter at all. Just can't see why Joe seems to be the golden boy.  Sounds as though you didn't watch the programme very closely if you never noticed the amount of time he spent touching himself and I wasn't the only one who noticed how much he swore.  Esther on leaving pointed it out.

Finding those ice lollies had nothing to do with teamwork.   It isn't as though it would have earned them an extra meal or anything - it was their reward for completing the task they had just done - the catch being they had to exert yet more energy by trying to find the damn things.  DVD it seems thought it wasn't worth the effort and by the time the third one was found it seems no-one else thought it was either so Joe had to admit defeat.  If you're 50+ and have just completed a physical trial scouting for ice cream just wouldn't figure high on your list of prioriities - nothing to do with teamwork just personal preference.

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

p.s. I'm not really a DVD fan (although I thought he was the most interesting character in the programme).  I just don't like to see people ganging up and gossiping like they're getting ready for a lynching.

Er .. actually I did used to be a fan.  I was a member of the Guys & Dolls fan club (pre Dollar days).  Wow showing my age now!!   Didn't realise Dollar was a duo spawned by Guys & Dolls.

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

I remember Guys and dolls, but it wasn't until recently that i discovered that DVD was in the group.

6 in the group if I recall. Didn't one of the girls have a famous father ?

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

Yes she was Brucie's daughter (Julie).  Must have been in the back of my mind where I'd seen him before because I mentioned it to someone that he'd been in Guys & Dolls.  Must admit one comment by Joe which made me laugh was about how he was trying to wake David who showed little interest (until he realised Joe had a camera!).  Still think it was very cruel of them to gang up on him though.

I'm certainly no Van Day fan, far from it, the odious creep, but I was disappointed Joe won.  I feel Martina deserved the crown more.  She was level headed, a real team player and an excellent role model. Such a shame she didn't win.

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

Well of the three who remained I'd rather Joe win than the others because despite turning on David later he did defend him when everyone else seemed to be on the attack.  And that tower thing he had to climb to collect the flags?  I couldn't imagine anyone else doing that.  Did they use trick camera work - he flew up there like a rat up a drainpipe!!

He even supported Nicola during the ice cream van trial - even though they were supposed to be in competition!!!

    Re: WELL DONE JOE!

Agree with your comments in full.

I would add that I find him an immature person who is vulgar and rude. I am no prude but heaven forbid I ever got in his company. He  doesn't seem to have a clue about the real world.

Very clever editing by ITV to get the result they wanted. Putting DVD as the baddie and Joe as the goodie. DVD served his purpose so was "voted" out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
