I hope this does not spoil my Corrie enjoyment. I find it hard to even watch Fawlty towers repeats with any enjoyment nowadays, after his lack of a sense of humour resulted in the loss to British television of the excellent, Jonathan Ross and Russel Brand.

in fairness....J Ross and R Brand were out of order...I wouldn't go as far as to complain as many silly "follow the crowd" people did....but you are talking out of your behind!

I totally agree , i feel he's just getting invovled with a popular television show to get some more publicity and sympathy and more people will dislike Ross & Brand for something that was clearly a joke blown totally out of preportion. I dont think i will be able to watch his character fairly and it will hinder my enjoyment.

I totally agree.  Added to which it was the ghastly grandaughter that jumped on the bandwagon.
