    Graham Stainer

Why on earth does Jeremy Kyle constantly refer to Graham Stainer as a genius??

    Am I missing something here?

I'm aware that he must do a lot of work backstage with the 'guests' who appear on the show but on the occasions when he is on stage, all he ever does is state the bleedin' obvious such as:

"So, you know you have a drink problem and you realise that injecting yourself with herion and snorting coke on a daily basis are not helping with your mood.....but you are not going to be able to be a tight-rope walker until you stop this obsessive behaviour"

    Well der :)

Also, isn't the tag genius laying some unrealistic expectations on the guests minds who think that after a session with Dr Marvell (is he a fully qualified Dr by the way??), all their problems will be solved?  Plus is it putting unnessaccary pressure on Graham's shoulders working under such a tag?

Finally, and more importantly.  I think it's offensive that people like Graham are revered as so called geniuses when for example, Stephen Hawking and myself have worked very hard to earn the title legitimately :)

Surprise]Agree with you Nickster about the lack of validity in calling Graham " the genius"...as I understand it, he's a hypontherapist, not a fully trained person dealing in real mental health issues.

By the by, you may need to check the spelling of necessary before you claim the genius epithet yourself

Touché ruardean...if that is indeed your real name Big Smile

My inability to spell necessary does not necessarily mean that i'm not a genius.  It does however highlight the necessity for me to use a spell check before clicking the post button :)

I do actually have a certificate proving my genius status.  I bought it on ebay and the postage was free....surely only a genius would be able to find a deal as good as that?? ;)

    hi Ruardean,

You stated that" he's a hypontherapist, not a fully trained person dealing in real mental health issues."As you seem  quick to correct other posters typos, check this before commenting any further,Anyone can make a simple mistake or typo.I hope you agree. No offence meant just an observation.

To be fair, my spelling of 'unnessaccary' was kinda shocking Big Smile

    Just a joke there nickster...

    My spelling is carp too!!!

There was an interesting article in the Observer a couple of months ago; a journo (Carole Cadwalladr) managed to get on the show & see the level of aftercare that was offered to some quite disturbed people.

    Worth a look.
