Glad you enjoyed the play, I always thought he was a good actor but I'm not a theatre goer so unless he comes back onto TV I will be missing out !

    Re: matt healy

Also, don't forget. A spectacular pantomime 'performance' of Peter Pan featuring former Emmerdale star Matt Healy is among the highlights of an action-packed autumn and winter season at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn.

It's so nice to see that he is aiming high... it's a shame he's reduced himself to panto. And the play he did (The Murder Game) had mostly bad reviews.

    Re: matt healy

Oh I never take any notice of reviews if I did I would have given up on Emmy many years ago and we all know it's really rather wonderful !

Pantomime may not be high theatre but it is the first time many children get to see a theatre so I love anyone willing to try and make it fun for them. It seems to be rather well paid as well - many actors use it to allow them to accept smaller payments for other theatre work.

    Re: matt healy

ARGH that theatre is tiny so what if he's doing a small panto. the plays dont pay much you know!

yes the critics gave it bad reviews but every person i spoke to who seen it loved it and said matt was the funniest. you cant judge something that you haven't seen!

Also georgia seen it and im sure she liked it!

    Re: matt healy

He has done well to go learn the craft of stage acting by doing several plays, but panto?! Come on, even you have to admit, that's way beneath him. He wont get much TV work on the back of playing Widow Tanky. Big Smile

    Re: matt healy

yes i am annoyed at him for doing panto but that doesnt mean he wont get any other work after it. he's done an episode of casualty. wait till you see he'll be on tv loads next year! he's just taking a break from it doing theatre!

and he's done theatre before emmerdale. he's so much better in theatre than tv! i dont know why it is but some people are better in theatre than tv (ie chris villers!)

    Re: matt healy

ONE episode of Casualty? Patsy Kensit was a worse actor, and she's in a main role on Holby. But I suppose she has celebrity on her side.

    Re: matt healy

Good actors and celebrity actors can be the same but IMO rarely are the same - better one good episode than a series of tat.

Not suggesting either actor is great or indeed starring in tat BTW.
