    Loving Coronation Street

I'm a Canadian, and we are nine months behind you ladies in the U.K., we are currently at the espiode where Steve has been lying to Michelle about what happened the night before he took of to the UK, and Michelle recently threw back the ring in the dumpster.

I enjoy reading you ladies posts as it keeps me in touch with what will happen for us down the road in 9 months time.

Please keep posting, as I love reading your posts.

    Take care and Thank you

Awww thats nice. Well be warned - we have come through quite a rough patch recently (some pretty dodgy storylines) but I think the scriptwriters must have been reading the posts as well because things have been improving of late. So hang in there - there's some good quality viewing coming up.

PS: I am going to be in Vancouver myself for the next 4 weeks and will have to get online for some catch-up.

    Re: Loving Coronation Street

Mmm, Steve lying to Michelle about that night... beware, that was probably the start of the particularly bad patch that we seem to be just coming out of. They got a surprising lot of mileage and endless boring dialogue out of that run-of-mill storyline, so be prepared for a longhaul!

BTW, glad you enjoy reading the comments on this forum, but we are not all ladies.

Sorry about that Bobbythecat, I know all viewers are not ladies, as we have alot of male viewers also loving the program here in Newfoundland......I guess I was just speaking for myself, didn't mean to offend you....Have a good day.

I get the feeling from your comments on all your posts that we are heading for a long as some people say boring haul....

    Enjoy your day everybody.

    Re: Loving Coronation Street

Do you have a Canadian equivalent of 'Corrie'?  I don't suppose you have cobbled streets in Canada (more space generally) do you?  But you must have similar eccentric characters?  Isn't that book/film 'The Shipping News' set in Newfoundland?  There were some real characters in that, as I recall!

    Re: Loving Coronation Street

    Hi Skatequeen,

The only cobbled streets we have here in St. John's, Newfoundland are down in the pub area of the city, on a street named " George Street".......they are the only ones I am aware of, maybe I am hanging out to much in the pubs...lol.......Yes the movie "The Shipping News" was set in Newfoundland, in smaller communities.....and there where some great actors in it.....Kevin Spacey, Julianne Moore, and  Judi Dench, and Gordon Pinsent ( Newfoundland Actor )., but as for us having equivalent of Coronation Street, no, not to my knowledge, and yes we do have some eccentric people here.....lol...

Have a great day and enjoy.....Take care

    Don't worry sassy1811, I didn't take offence.

Yes, you've now got a long stretch of rather dubious quality Coronation Street ahead of you. It's true that some of it is boring - lots of tedious deliberations between Steve and Michelle, and between Liam and Maria, that just made my eyes glaze over. However, the coming months are not boring in that they are very eventful. The problem is, the storylines are very far-fetched and there is a tendency to suddenly change characters' personalities and attitudes to fit in with these crazy stories. You may find yourself entertained by it, but I tend to like some element of realism and consistency in my Coronation Street viewing. Anyway, don't be too dispirited - we managed to get through it, so I'm sure you can Smile

Thanks Herne. I've just popped online for a bit of catch up but it would appear that I am not missing too much at the moment anyway. Travel

    Re: Loving Coronation Street

Hello All !,  i am new to this blog, but have been an avid Corrie Fan for 25 years !!  i deliberately miss

the half hour episodes during the week, so i can reserve 2 1/2 hours sunday am to watch the whole week!,     Everyone knows NOT to call during my Sunday morning Corrie Fix !! lol     I admit to even reading ahead on line,  so i actually get mixed up with what i am watching, and what i know is going to happen ! lol,  ( everyone thinks i am nuts, but have had a few conversions over the years, so they

    are all addicted now too!

Down Town Montreal  by the way,  has an area known as " old Montreal " and it is alll cobblestones, with quaint lil bistros, and pubs and horse drawn carriages,  it really is beautiful!

Was wondering,  i just watched an episode of " Law and Order UK " last nite ( am a huge Law and

order fan but,  never even heard of the the UK version !  is it new and do you get the other Law and orders in the UK as well ??   also what i loved is that the lead character is played by no other than

one of my favorites the infamous " Danny Baldwin "  just wondered if that was news to anyone

Anyway, just wanted to drop in with my 2 cents, and say hi to my fellow Corrie nuts .. lol

    Re: Loving Coronation Street

Loved Danny Baldwin in Law and Order UK.  We do get the other Law and Orders aswell.

Old Montreal sounds fab.  Have been right on the US/Canada border but never made it into Canada.  Perhaps some day.........      Enjoy your Corrie Sundays.  We'll be thinking of you.
