Not paying complete attention due to sick dog I missed a bit of Emmy last night - returned to screen to see Betty disgusted and horrified at Val and Eric's plans for the factory - rewound (good old sky plus) to find it wasn't a plan to make it into a brothel (my first thought) but a funeral parlour ! What is so disgusting about that ?

Ha ha, just horrid me thinking of the factory lot working in a Brothel!  Some would be getting very hungry indeed!

I was also a bit surprised at the vehemence of Betty, Edna et al, perhaps they think Val and Eric are far too insensitive and grasping to be undertakers.

 I think their main objection is that Val and Eric have no experience and what you said buttercup.  Anyway don't you need to have training to be an undertaker and where would they store the bodies (they surely have to be refridgerated until the burial or creamation)?  They couldn't possibly use the offices they have now and they surely would need a licence?  As an aside I know there are quite a few villagers we never see (and others living outside Emmerdale) but there can't be that much custom can there?
